Minera 0.8.0 released!

New version is officially ready, you can download 0.8.0 image file at https://getminera.com/download/latest

Github master branch was merged as well. (And it has got its own repository name :-) ) https://github.com/getminera/minera

IMPORTANT: Upgrade from a previous version of Minera is difficult and not possible via web interface.
For more info about it please read: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=596620.msg21414967#msg21414967 and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=596620.msg21462989#msg21462989

Happy mining!

Appologies. Just downloaded the new version listed but is still 0.7.0 after the install. have you perhaps finished 0.8.0 upload.. ?

@michelem, Thank you for your awesome job.
I have a hard time to find any image to run my old gridseed blade until i found your minera last week.

Same as above post, i just download and run 0.7.0 and run it. Its so great, i will familiar 1st with minera for several days before i upgrade it.

That's weird, perhaps browser cache? Could you retry? I just downloaded it and it's good.

In my case i have downloaded at Sept 2nd and got 0.7.0 version, so i think its before the update

And i have download again today and got smaller size, maybe because its 0.8.0 version
0.7.0 zip file have 1.6 GB
0.8.0 zip file have 1.42 GB

Question :
Could i just upgrade from 0.7.0 (top right - help tab) than re-flash my sd card?

I have the "update Now" red button there

Yes it should be 0.8.0 now.

For upgrade, no you can't use web update for this release, please read https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=596620.msg21463680#msg21463680

For reference this is the md5 checksum of the file 24e218d9c87be06c12237e124ee0a2db for 0.8.0, so when you finished the download just check the md5 of your file if is the same.

So....issues, lots of issues going on with this new update. I did the complete wipe of my previous version on the SD card, did the usual win32diskimager for the new one. Booted up my PI and nothing. I see the login via hdmi from the PI itself...hit minera minera and goes to the usual splash screen but it doesn't register any IP address and I attempted this via many reboots but still no IP to connect to. I tried also from my pc to SSH into it via the old saved IP I used to use to access Minera but nothing.

To further trouble shoot I also went into my router to see if maybe its some hidden IP address change but the device is not showing up at all and its odd because this is directly hooked up to it with ethernet.

Anyone having this kind of issue with the new update?

Now I do see one weird thing on boot screen. The data coming in all appears in the GREEN but I do have a FAILED in the data boot section and it reads like this: [FAILED] Failed to start /etc/rc.local Compatibility

Not sure if that is a sign of something wrong with my build but I figured its in the RED so might mean something. Anyways I spent all night trying to sort this out but nothing seems to work. I will try to pop in tomorrow at some stage with hopes someone can tell me a fix or if I should just return to 0.7.0

Great software, doesn't stop me from loving it, but man what a headache tonight lol. I mainly went the route to manually upgrade via SD Card imaging because I did the web one and my Raspberry PI got up to almost 80 C for some reason after upgrade, and this thing is only a month old so concerned me. Hope I didn't burn something up with the upgrade via web, can't figure why it heated up like that right after but concerning.

Wifi or Ethernet? You should use ethernet first (then you can configure your wifi) and it should get the IP via DHCP from the router that must be enable on it.
Otherwise if you need a static IP try with this (only eth0) https://www.modmypi.com/blog/how-to-give-your-raspberry-pi-a-static-ip-address-update

For the heating issue is normal, you hit the update button and it started to upgrade a lot of packages and this is extreme CPU process.

Hello,
I want to ask if someone tried to use the Minera 0.7.0 with Antminer L3+? Will there be a new version of the Minera and whether it would support the option of mining devices of another type of Cryptocurrency?

L3/+ uses proprietary miner software I don't think it's compatible with Minera.

L3 uses a variant of cgminer. There should be no reason why it would not work if this works with the S9. Im looking into it with my machine.

You have to force the miner to use API, on official Cgminer you need the option --api-listen and --api-allow 'W:127.0.0.1,W:192.168.0.1/24'
Please let me know.

Thanks for the reply @michelem

Actually still with issues. The heating came after the update and running from the web update, my PI was getting up around 90 C after the update was long done, kind of didn't notice this till about an hour after the fact because I thought the update was fine and it was running on F2POOL, my actual miner was not heating up and its a distance away from the PI itself but for some reason it was jacking up fast off the web update. This is what lead me actually here and figured the route of direct flashing the drive would correct it.

Far as after the flash, I have the PI already set on the static IP setup, I tend to do that after flash every time due to having a lot of devices running on our home network. And its Ethernet, I don't mine via WIFI but its still coming up with that error and the IP attached to it is not registering to my Router still. I am going to try a reflash though in a minute, just to rule out maybe a hiccup in the flashing process which I doubt could cause this issue but hey you never know lol

I did once though have the IP show up on my router, but when I tried to SSH in or direct route through the IP showing, nothing...wouldn't go in so unsure if it was really on there or if I am having some strange issue with my router all the sudden here. I am in Florida so with the coming hurricane I probably will attempt this one last moment today just to get it all configured but its appearing we maybe packing up the old miners and the house and getting the heck out of dodge in a day anyways. No worries though, I really appreciate the help. Been using Minera a bit and love the work you guys are doing on this. I actually work in the cryptocurrency Visio myself so kind of know how developing goes and think you guys are slamming out a really great product here for us miners, probably going to do the donate thing after this storm, was the plan, sick of Ads and you guys deserve a little bit of kickback for this wicked program. Off to tinker some more and troubleshoot, I will pop on again when I get a moment if something else is relevant to this issue, or just to say I got it sorted. Thanks again

Is there a version of 0.7.0 still on Git? 0.8.0 just isn't working for me at all. No matter how I try to work around it and static ip it, it just doesn't respond with any form of IP on 0.8.0 not sure what gives, just put raspbian on there and it runs right off the get go.

By the way.....
I did the upgrade using the "Upgrade button"....  on the old Minera 0.7.0 to the new 0.8.0 .....
yesterday it wasn't working......
but today...... after my new plugable USB hub arrived I decided to start it again.....  and now version 0.8.0 is working with both my Gekkos 2pack flawlesly, getting about 11Gh/s per gekko.....
just one question.... I'm getting more money using the Bitcoin Miner APP for windows which mines at about 200kh/s than with Minera and Slushpool,  why?Huh?

please let me know

0.8.0 has latest Raspbian Stretch, if the Raspbian image (latest) works for you start from that then run the manual install on it.

Just get a terminal and run:

Code:
curl -o- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/getminera/minera/master/install_minera_ubuntu.sh | sudo bash

It must be a fresh Raspbian install https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/

That depends on what miner you are using with what options. May be on windows it has frequency sets different.

Look at this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173963.0 how to adjust freq on Cgminer/Bfgminer
