Now I have setup an Debian 9.3 from the scratch. All works fine till I start the minera install script. After this the lightttpd wil not start again!

service lighttpd restart
Job for lighttpd.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
See "systemctl status lighttpd.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

I think I will give ubuntu a change!

Manual installs always requires to put hands on system because it can be different by system to system.

Updated to v0.9.0 as the stats were no longer loading (php 7)

New update obviously didn't install php 7 so it's still not working.

Ssh'd into the pi and it's taken about 5 minutes so far just to do an apt-get update

I've read above that you are using forced browser mining now (to make some cash - nothing wrong with that), but having this process run while trying to simply update the repo list (which is what I assume is making my pi run like a Zx81) is just ridiculous.

It's obviously caning all of the pi's resources.

Are there any plans to remove this forced mining in newer versions and maybe introduce a premium version instead? If not, Minera is no longer of any use to me as this is just crazy.

The script for Minera mining is in the browser, it's a Javascript! So I got your PC CPU only when you look at your Minera from your browser and you can disable it from the settings page.

Minera doesn't take nothing from Raspberry cpu power, it's simply not powerful and take a while to do an apt update, it's a raspberry, it's slow.

Is it possible to use Minera just as Moniror for some Antminer? I dont need a local Miner!

BR
Johannes

Yes of course, just don't setup it.

Wow, that's exactly what I was looking for! Thank you, sir! btw, can't find a detailed roadmap for the future updates aside from general improvements, would be interesting to see your plans in details! GL

There's not a real roadmap because I have really few time to dedicate to it. You can look at something here https://github.com/getminera/minera/issues but not timetable to do them.

Thanks sir, I understand! That will do as an alternative to roadmap, really maybe even better!

Many thanks to your response!

hi all,

i updated from 0.7 to 0.9 recently and have been having a few issues since. i have been having trouble with the entire rasp-pi (3 verB) locking up / freezing so it can't be accessed from the web site or ping the local ip. sometimes when this happens the activity light remains stuck on, my miners are also stuck. i never had issues like this with 0.7, its only since upgrading. I have switched out power supplies and cables also but that isn't the cause.

i also noticed this recently, it could be something related to the problem, or causing the issue when the 'miner restart' flag in the settings is triggered.

i have run a manual update of the system today and seems to be performing better, but still having the issue in the screenshot. i tried clearing the logs under settings but that still hasn't fixed it up. rebooted several times also

many thanks for any suggestions.

You can't update from 0.7.0, you have to start from image file 0.9.0

Actually is an issue that there is forced mining, even if you visit getminera.com it forces you to mine.

My issue is that its done in a sneaky and dishonest manner, if the developer is hurting this much for money, then he might implement other techniques that will steal hash rates from minners or compromise our wallets.

Just offer minera as a paid service...

Minera 0.9.0 doesn't support Gridseed anymore?
I think the problem is in the port, but I'm trying open the port of my router without success.

Just offer minera as a paid service...

You still didn't understand how browser mining is working, it doesn't have anything to do with your RPI. It's a BROWSER mining not Rpi-CPU mining. So it doesn't waste or use any RPI resources, it uses your browser idle CPU instead and only when you look at Minera web interface from any PC/Mac.
And by the way, it's not hidden, you have full control over it, you can just go to the settings page and turn it off forever.

So please do not continue to tell me I'm a thief or anything like that because it's simply false. And lastly, if you still have problems, don't use Minera.

@michelem

Some suggestions for network miners...currently have a bunch connected via API, and for each API call for each miner minera "grays" out and needs a refresh. Not sure if this is intended, but API calls should be executed in the background and not require a refresh before you can do anything else. For example if I want to switch pools on lets say 10 connected miners, it should take a few seconds to go down the list and just select the pool you want switched, but right now it takes several minutes, since you have to wait for the whole page to refresh on each call.

Thanks for the feedback, but sadly I have no time now to look at this, I mean I haven't either a Minera where I am now, btw that isn't a regular behavior probably there is a bug around it.
