Need one or two more pools
One European pool incoming soon.

Digit: a new Cryptocurrency with a massive premine - an article by The Cryptocurrency Times http://www.usacryptocoins.com/thecryptocurrencytimes/uncategorized/digit-a-new-cryptocurrency-with-a-massive-premine/
While everyone has the right of an opinion, we wonder what kind of calculations showed the autor that the premine is overly massive?

Our position is that scrypt asics are already here and from mid-summer they will absolutely flip the market which means the mining difficulty together with the network hash rates for popular coins will likely explode. Taking that into consideration, the Digit premine would actually seem rather conservative.

We will provide transparency regarding the destination of the premine as we use it over time. It is important to us win over the trust of cryptocurrency users.

Same here. Already got my first stake!
It will be 0.2% stake for first month, but it will grow each month by 0.2%, so im holding and watching this with great interest!

I also like the fact that its scrypt. Im not that pessimistic about incoming monster asics. GPU mining today is still profitable if managed correctly and all altcoins are driven by BTC anyway. So it does not really matter which algorithm to mine.
This coin is specifically designed for scrypt, because its difficulty adjusting block rewards. Digit aims for higher difficulty and therefor higher block rewards with upcoming scrypt asics.

We'll go over our main points again, but please take the time to also read through OP.

We will provide the community with complete transparency regarding the use of the premine. A public log will be kept for DSF wallet addresses and transactions.

Everyone has an equally good opportunity to mine Digit right now now with graphic cards. Eventually, when everything goes well with Digit hopefully getting listed in an exchange and scrypt asics take over the mining, we will organize a multipool that has an option for a payout in Digit. Everyone will have an equal chance to get paid in Digit if they wish. DSF will channel funds from the premine to keep the multipool fees at the minimum level or even at 0%.

i hate to say this but it all comes over as a bit passive :

- waiting in the hope that a pool comes by and picks up Digit (i'm glad Minep.it saw your announcement and picked it up by themself, same with the other pool)
- waiting in the hope that an exchange will accept Digit (none so far, are there initiatives to actively approach the exchanges?)
- i posted a post about transactionfees getting stuck on 0 .. no reply
- tbh i'm not even sure how many coins will be in circulation in the end .. its not mentioned on your first post.

Normally these new coins have several things already arranged at launch-time, i'm getting the feeling this is not the case with this coin.

How big is your development-team anyways ? Maybe they should introduce themselves in here ?

We will gladly answer any questions in range of reason.
Thank you for your interest in Digit.

First off, about the pools - we did not wait and hope that a pool would pick up Digit because a pool contacted us already at pre-announcement and even if that had not happened, we would have provided our own pool in case there was demand for one.

Secondly, getting listed on an exchange is not currently our primary target, but it's indeed very true that having available exchanges is a necessity. It's difficult for any new cryptocurrencies to get into an exchange and before we strive for that, our first priority is to gain the trust & the support of the community.

In regards to the bug affecting you: The paying additional transaction fee option seems to be a windows-qt specific issue. We will look into this and provide an update ASAP.

Digit's maximum supply is projected to be at 90 billion coins, but this goal will not be reached any time soon. It is basically impossible to accurately assess how many DIG will be circulating the markets in about a year or even three years from now because the Digit block reward is driven by demand.

Our current team size is three people.

There is no specific, all-encompassing answer as to what needs to be done to make sure Digit will be a alive and in circulation for years to come, but you can absolutely rest assured that we are taking this project very seriously and will do everything in our power for it to be a success.
