Dev, I want to stake on linux with syncd, but make -f makefile.unix give error
Are sources actual?

what OS do you have, and what error do you get?!
You will need to install libdb for example and correct version of boost (1.48 or higher)

also try to this command:  make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=- this removes the requirement of having the lib for UPNP installed..

There are several different errors. Can you build syncd for me? OS: Ubuntu Server 14.04.1 LTS

What do we do if the block explorer doesn't show the correct amount for our address? I have more than the explorer shows... I'm worried that I'm not getting credit for my full balance for the Oct-Nov period. I sent Mike an email about it. I've only ever had one wallet, one address, and have been staking for months. So I'm not sure what's up. I've deleted/resynced, made sure I'm on the right chain etc. Explorer still has my balance wrong. Ideas? It looks like staking is creating new addresses inside my wallet, but they're not listed as receiving addresses, and I didn't create them myself. Is there any way to force coins to always stake to the address they came from instead of creating their own?
Did you open the "Coin Control" page in your wallet and verify all inputs are using the correct address?
If you see any inputs there with random addresses, that is caused by sending coins from your wallet while you have no "Custom change address" configured, so the wallet sends the change to itself at a random new address.
All you need to do is to select every input (line) that does not have the correct address, then send exactly the same value as the selected coins to your own address and also set the "custom change address" to your own address. From then on, you should see the total balance of your wallet in your address. Note that if you close and re-open the wallet, you need to re-configure the custom change address.
Hope this helps!

If you are in the rental program and you are staking. Does it matter that when staking the wallet moves some coins to another address? In coin control i sometimes see some of my coins being in a different address? Does this effect you having 3 sync in the wallet you signed up for the rental program? If yes, how do i fix this?

That link goes to a BAMT boot issue from May 2012?Huh
I don't understand how you would be able to stake offline, since staking is PoS mining of blocks,
so they need to go into the block chain, no? That would require an internet connection.
But there may be a different proposal and since the link seems not to point to the correct article,
it is hard to say.
I have seen people stake in a wallet running on a Raspberry Pi, which is about $50 investment
and very low power consumption (powered from a cellphone charger).

At least 3 SYNC must be in the address that you submitted for the staking/renting rewards.
The wallet staking does *not* create a new address, it recycles the old address from the staked input.
But if you send coins without specifying a "custom change address" then any difference between the value of the inputs and
the amount you are sending, is sent to a new random address in the wallet. That address is counted in the wallet balance
but if you check your original address, you won't see this balance as it is in a different address.
Just select anything that does not have the correct address and send it to the correct address (can be done in 1 action) and you are good.
Success!

This one works! What I see is... a Raspberry Pi B+ (for which they apparently are preparing a new case).
Also: "Maieuticoin Offline Staking will be discontinued on November 1st, 2014. I want to thank everyone for contributing to the Alpha Test. We may bring the service back, but it was mainly a test for our next Maieuticoin development."
I don't see the specs for "offline staking", only see a 24h maturity time defined for the coin, so possibly it is required to connect to the network at least once per day? The RasPi will allow permanent Internet connectivity and 24/7 operation at very low power, without
cluttering your PC, so I do not see the benefit of taking the staking off-line, but that may be just me not understanding what they
try to do. I see on the last page the mention that the offline staking thread was taken off-line, oh the irony.

Edit:
I dug a little deeper and apparently the "Virtual Offline Staking" that they offer means that you can send your coins to an address (hot or cold wallet) that can be taken offline after you have sent the private key of that address to the central organisation that manages the virtual offline staking, you will then earn 0.96% interest every week (50% yearly interest) but it seems you have to move your coins at least every 30 days or your staking stops. There is also concern about a central point that you have to trust with your private key to enable staking. Not sure I like that idea, then you are back to the banking model...

Hey Cor2, thanks for the explanation/solution! This sucks balls, I hadn't noticed that such a thing would happen and now I'm pretty sure my coin total for the Oct-Nov period is going to be under-represented. Sad
This is a MAJOR issue for SYNC's program and how its setup. This should be known to every investor, so they can ensure that coin totals are represented fully in the address they've registered. If you've ever moved SYNC around check the blockchain folks! Mike probably thinks you have a lot less than you do! :/

How do you set the custom change address exactly?

Pretty sad to see this coin's market cap has dropped so significantly. We're nearing shitcoin territory. I mean seriously... we're hob nobbing with Bagtech coins like RZR. FUCKING MOONCOIN IS ABOVE SYNC.

This is going to turn into a bag holders club soon, I'm afraid. Can't even get an email response from Mike for a week, yet he tweets his ass off. Starting to think this whole coin is smoke & mirrors while Mikey gets his rocks off on the backs of his investors. I was in the top 10 largest wallet holders, #6 actually, for months - and I can't even get a response to a simple question. I had the confusion about extra addresses in my wallet, so I wrote an email over a week ago asking how much of my balance was counted for the Oct 18th cutoff. He responded promptly saying he'll "look into it". One sentence. I've followed up a couple times. No response. This isn't new either, same exact shit happened a couple months ago when I had a question.

How hard is it to pull up the spreadsheet and look up my payout record? There is a ledger of your members and their rental status, right? Take 5 minutes off of Twitter and answer your emails please.

haha, the sooner you realize that this is NOT going to happen the sooner you'll get what he is doing.

the "devs" just post some random updates trying to pump the coin. but the major players have left long ago. just bag holding people all around.

the coin where the devs aren't answering legit questions is doomed.

just my 2 cents.

yeah i'm sad it turned out that way. lost a little bit of money on it unfortunately. glad that you still made ROI.

but i think mike is also in panic. if i read his tweets correctly he is also frightened that it might go waaaaay down.

It will all come down to the size of the rental fee.
If that is significant enough to warrant longterm holding, it might bounce bigtime.
If it's small, or nonexistant, god help us all.
