A historical event finally happened!!

We have had a "We take Bitcoin" sign at our booth for our local farmer's market for 3 years now.
The first year people asked "What is that?"
The second year people said "I have heard of that, how does it work?"
And finally last week we had someone visiting the booth and was about to buy some goodies with fiat and then saw the bitcoin sign.  "You take bitcoin!?"

It was his first purchase and our first transaction at the Farmer's Market with bitcoin.

The boys had decided long ago that the first person to pay with btc that we would double his order.  Needless to say, the guy was extra happy to get some extra goodies.  Grin

That is actually awesome, it took three years but someone bought with Bitcoin at the Farmers Market

Congrats on an adoption milestone for all users Smiley

Believing in Bitcoins and it's ability to change the world

We tell the stores that carry them not to keep them over a month.  Once they are out of our hands, we can't control the environment they are in, (heat, humidity, stored next to something with orders like onions...).   Thus the 1 month expiration suggestion.

Trust me on this one... They won't last a whole month.

I ended up having to put mine in the fridge. Texas heat was making them too soft. And, yes, get the almonds. They are to die for.

Thanks again guys for a great product.

Currently attending Washington State University's Beekeeping course / Queen Rearing class.  The real purpose of the trip was to work with some of the researchers here and use their facilities to artificially inseminate bumble bee queens.

Looks like we have just accomplished the first artificial insemination of a bumblee bee ever!

Next week will be camping in the Cascades and Olympic National Parks collecting and identifying bumble bees. (Yes, we have permits). Then heading down to Oregon to sample a few places there.

Recently had a good amount of rain in Northern Utah and expecting a decent late season honey flow. This late season honey is some of my favorite.

Its been a psycho-crazy busy summer!

Finished with extracting honey for the year and got a very good crop!  One of the boys put some honey in the County Fair and won 1st place.  It went on to the State Fair and won 1st place again.

We have been testing out a Ginger honey caramel this week, and will have it up on the website within the week.  So far everyone who has tested it for us says it is their new favorite honey caramel.
Its made from grating the ginger root and throwing it in with the honey when we make the caramel.

A few off us have been out of town this past week (taking a repelling and a handgun class Grin)
Now we are back and have just adjusted our website to reflect the 20% discount on all our items for Bitcoin Black Friday.

http://www.beesbros.com/bitcoin-black-friday.html

We will run this special all day Friday and Saturday (and maybe into Sunday).

International orders need to contact us for shipping costs, as the website is only for US shipping.
Also, we still haven't fixed our website to calculate the exact shipping charges when multiple items are ordered when using bitcoin.
We will refund the excess shipping charges if there are any.

Check out the other good deals going on...

Still a few more hours left of our Bitcoin Black Friday deals.

We had an interesting conversation when I dropped off 45 packages at the Post Office this morning and told them these were all ordered with bitcoin. Shocked

Then told him we will have just as many again on Monday morning.

Not sure why this thread is dead since a month, it needs a bump.

Thanks for the bump! I'm a little late in responding, but we are alive and well, and very busy!

The oldest son now has his drivers license, and I no longer have to go to the bee yards with them!!
The boys are meeting with a government employment person this week to ask the question "How do I hire my friend(s) without having a risk of jail time?"
Also looking at buying some equipment (a honey bottler and a decapping station), but we want to pay in bitcoin.  So they will be calling different companies to see if they would be willing to accept bitcoin.
