Still waiting for a single person on craigslist or bitcoinclassifieds.net to purchase any one of my hundreds of items for sale that I accept BTC for.
I know that feel. I've had items up on Gumtree stating that I accept Bitcoin and Litecoin, yet there has been no enquiries for purchasing through those means. I'm selling things like guitars, amps and pedals so I would have expected some of my target audience to have been exposed to crypto. However I feel that they don't want to spend their precious when they can simply front cash. That's a though, maybe I should offer a slight discount for crypto purchases...

I don't feel bad about floating to fiat. If people bought at $400 they can get a discount by buying now just because of the float.

I spending BTC rarely. I try to get rid of my fiat first obviously. If I had BTC income instead, the situation would be different.
This is why I believe for BTC to go mainstream, income in BTC must be common option

I don't feel bad about floating to fiat. If people bought at $400 they can get a discount by buying now just because of the float. Of course, they would be winning if they buy $500 worth of goods using coin purchased $400 which is now worth say $650. But as a merchant/seller/trader whatever, you can't take that into consideration. You merely operate using the value of the coin you are trading in at the time of purchase. I will happily take fiat for my goods, after all that's what we've grown up knowing, but it would be nice to agree a trade in crypto. Perhaps it is more faff than it is worth.

It doesn't matter whether you receive your salary in fiat or Bitcoin. If you want to keep it in Bitcoin, then you can do so using an exchange. But it is not very clever to keep all of your wealth in Bitcoin.

How much was Bitcoin worth at the time of the transaction just out of interest? Is that how you came to that figure?

Ya that's today's price. Average cost of those coins is only $560. Deflation works! I will replace the coins back into my wallet when I see a little dip.

So it comes to around $3,500. Give us a few more details. In which city do you live? Which type of roof are you planning for your house? Also, once you make the transaction, post the ID here in this thread. And yes there is one roofer in my city that accepts bitcoin.
WTF?

As everyone knows one of the major problems with Bitcoin economy is hoarding. The idea of this poll is to find out whether the lack of spending in the BTC economy is mainly due to the lack of acceptance of Bitcoin payments, or is it that people can actually buy a good deal of stuff that they need with BTC but choose not to.
I pretty much just hoard mine right now

I pretty much just hoard mine right now I do both. I spend it on things I would normally buy and purchase enough to replace it each time.

I spend mine mostly on food... and I don't worry about "replenishing" $5-$10... it's a small portion of my portfolio.
I keep enough in my blockchain spending wallet, just like I keep cash in my wallet. If it ever runs out, I'll refill it, but for now, 1 BTC will likely last me several meetups.
In general, I'm cheap and don't buy stuff.
I'll be pounding the pavement hard though to support small business Saturday this year trying to get merchant adoptance for bitcoin.
And just like the regular world, if Black Friday/bitcoin Friday has good deals, I'll be buying stuff.
