I am sorry to announce that I'll be closing down Bitraise.me. Due to insufficient donations I can't keep the service up and running as is. Please stop mining and transfer all your mined CasinoCoins to your own wallet. The stratum servers will go offline next week and the pool will close by the end of november. Many thanks to all who mined at Bitraise.me! https://bitraise.me/ What software was this running on? VPS at DigitalOcean with ubuntu running apache, mysql and PHP. Used MPOS for the mining pool interface. For proxy i configured stratum mining with multiple diff ports for miners with higher hash rates. Also added a cheap ssl certificate. Franko, Globalcoin and gulden are also installed and configured for mining, but there was not enough interest for that, so i decides to deactivate them. What did this cost per month? If you don't want to shut it down, maybe we can work out something with the hosting. $20 a month, if that is covered, i can keep things up and running and maintain the pool.

BTW, I just chatted with a representative form Kraken to ask if they would be willing to accept the coin. They were extremely helpful and offered that if I write up a summary of the opportunity and submit it to them, they would forward it to their business development department.
Personally, I think Kraken would be capable of handling the coin once we obtain a large marketcap like $33m. At least now, this hopefully gets this on their radar.

Let me talk to some people, but I don't think this would be a problem. You've built up some value there. Besides a mining pool could become very profitable by the end of the year.

I have found that having ads on your pool may cover that $20/month. I too run on donations but unlike MPOS where miners can donate a % of their rewards it is done manually. Have only received a few one time donations in the last 3 or so years. Of course I have been around for a while now and support 8 coins so that probably helps. I offer the source code so anyone can run their own P2Pool node but that takes effort and skill most miners don't want to exert. Have thought of running MPOS pools (even bought the domain name onepool.net a while ago) but to be honest I'm out of space where I am currently at and expanding would require that I purchase additional equipment ($$$$). Hosting somewhere else would cost me a monthly fee and it is just not worth it if you are looking to make anything or even cover your costs. Have thought of operating at a loss just for the fun of it but then I'm afraid I might have to one day shut it down for financial reasons and don't want to do that. It seems like you need some sort of differentiator to entice miners to use your service and remotely have the chance of making any money running a pool.

Getting CasinoCoin to Kraken, one of the biggest btc exchanges, would be huge. Let's hope they see the potential from Your summary.

I just use google ads. Initially tried some BTC related ad services but quickly found google ads to make much more. One thing you cant do is ask people to click on your ads in support of the site. I hope miners realize that those ads help pay for hosting, etc. and if they see something that interested them they would click on it. I really didn't spend much time optimizing the ads for the site. Kinda just threw them up there. I am fortunate that running the pools does not require an additional monthly cost. The equipment used (enterprise class physical servers) was probably in the $7k range (I forget...and that doesn't include all the auxiliary equipment) but had already been paid for and was not being utilized for anything else. Any expansion would have to be paid for out of pocket. I don't see it ever paying for itself. The only motivation for me is that I consider this a hobby and find it fun to do. As a hobby any expense is just part of the cost to entertain myself.

I just use google ads. Going to try that, thanks. Visitor count is not that high, maybe ill add a blog or some news about CSC as official websites currently don't share much info about new development.

Lets do a little math: I checked, last summer low was ~150sat. Now the price is ~7000sat. If you invested 1btc, that was approx 666000 csc. Now this amount CSC is worth approx 46btc. Either Your calculations are wrong, or You missed the original train. Btw, its not late to jump on, CSC is still cheap
