I don't care. Would be nice if we can help c-cex with any kind of valid/acceptable development?

In the mean time, hows the development going for the new wallet? Any progress? I signed up for the news letters, but didn't receive any new information about the coin. When will there be any info sent to the public?

This is from last week. I have been working on getting my coins back for 3 weeks now.

I have bought over 100,000 in the past weeks and sent them from c-cex to cryptsy and 1 other wallet. Absolutely nothing has been done and they state they have been talking to you guys to reimburse everyone who has bought coins from may 19th.

I was the one who brought v.1.2 to their attention, they didn't even know they had to update. Now with 3 transactions lost in the blockchain somewhere they say they can't do anything. WTF?

Over 80k coins were going to friends, colleagues and start ups to promote the coin, losing steam here. Total of 107,000+ CSC Coins lost.

I'm here to start discussion about situation we have on c-cex with Casino coin.

1. When hard fork occured in may, 19 I was not notified about that, later I was warned by customers that CSC need's update and when I checked CSC thread as usual I took sources from here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=258090.0 and recompiled it thinking that everything is ok.

2. Wallet worked fine, as I understand now on wrong fork, all transactions got confirmed. We had deposits and withdrawals on this wrong chain. We had some problems with withdrawals and deposits with users using very new wallet but there was a few of them.

3. In mid of June I got in touch with new owners of CSC and realized that infact there is newer version than I had from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=258090.0 I recompiled it immediately and got huge discrepancy of CSC. New wallet's balance become 28944 CSC instead of 1356475 CSC it should have to cover user's balances and initiated withdrawals that sent to wrong chain. So now we have discrepancy of 1327531 CSC.

4. Solution is simple. I would like to request CSC dev to include this coins for c-cex customers to new blockchain. It is technicaly possible and dev is ok with that, but this needs to be aproved by CSC community.

I hope You will approve it and our customer's will be able to use their CSC that they should have.

If only Mt. Gox had thought of this approach, maybe they'd still be open...

Sorry to see this happen but them are the breaks.... Cryptsy has had to eat it when this has happened to them in the past. Would think it's part of the risk you take on when running an exchange. I've had it happen to me personally on other coins so I understand the frustration.

Don't mean to sound "frank" but those are my thoughts. I realize it is an extraordinary case and don't know the right answer but to dilute the coin by making code changes does not seem like the right way to solve it. I'm already uncomfortable with all these coins changing their distribution/reward lately.

Just to be clear, Casinocoin and I haven't agreed to generate 1.3m new coins or reimburse customer losses at c-cex. My opinion  is that even though doing so is possible, but I cannot unilaterally decide to spontaneously generate 1.3m (5%) new coins and frankly I'm not sure that it is necessarily good for us to insure users of the coin. This why I suggested that c-cex discuss this on the boards to see if people support his request and asked him to publicly devulge the details his situation.

For now, I will refrain from giving any further opinion. I would like the community to discuss this openly with c-cex until we generate a general consensus for either doing what he requests or not doing anything. This is really up to you guys. So please give your opinions.

So I just posted above but I've been thinking about this more. As someone who lost 1,300 CSC coins due to this snafu, I suppose it really comes down to responsibility. Since I'm new to mining and learning about all of this, was this caused by an error due to the exchange (in this case C-Cex)? If so, then it would seem that they should be responsible for the reimbursement of lost coins. Being a believer in free markets, and assuming my understanding of this situation is correct, then C-Cex has two choices - and their consumers can respond accordingly. They either eat it and reimburse due to their error or they can take the stance that they won't issue reimbursement/compensation and risk people saying "well, that's the last time I deal with C-Cex" and take their coin exchanging business elsewhere. Again, I'm new to this so all of what I just said assumes that the onus of all of this is on C-Cex. My position would be different if this was caused by a coding/developer issue.

Can someone explain what exactly happened to bring us to this discussion so I can better understand why my CSC coins I transferred to C-Cex just never made it there? Thanks in advance!

The burden of competence of any exchange falls on that particular exchange.

Gox customers will not be reimbursed by the Bitcoin protocol via additional dilution.  It sounds to me like the exchange dropped the ball and now we have to be diluted for their error.

Crypto currencies are not a communist program [yet].

Finally, 1.3 million coins is less than 5 BTC, a small price for a careless error.

Regards...

Edit:  This would set a dangerous precedent opening up the possibility of fraud and extortion by scammy exchanges.

Re-reading C-Cex's initial post it's clear this happened because they didn't update their wallet in time (by their own admission). As such my vote, as someone who lost coins because of this (if my vote even matters being that these coins were the first CSC I ever mined and I'm new to the CSC community) is that the rest of the coin holders should not be asked to take on the burden of dilution due to the error of the exchange.

C-Cex can either reimburse me for my missing coins or I'll just not deal with them again and use other exchanges.

This would be akin to a bank screwing up a deposit because they didn't update their systems in time and instead of crediting my account from their own funds, asked the other account holders to split the difference.

I wasn't suggesting C-CEX was scammy.  It's just that if scammy exchanges do hear about such things it would be quite easy to fake a similar scenario in the future in order to extort coins from us.

It's quite simple, the party that made the error should carry the burden of the cost.  Exchanges are in the business of listing and updating coins as needed; and this exchange simply failed to do their job properly.

I don't see what's left to discuss, they need to reimburse their customers [before the price sky-rockets] or not; it's their choice.

I don't understand the whale, he keeps placing and canceling his orders. I wonder how many were filled.

just to confirm, cryptsy is updated and my coins are all good?

I have been away for awhile, my mining pc keeps crashing and I dont have the time to diagnose the problem and fix it. maybe next weekend.

For transparency i am not the whale  Tongue I dont have a huge sum but I have approx 450k. If my mining rig was working I would have more. Its been offline for about a month to one and a half months.

+1
It's 1 month after update. 1.4M coins can be done on old chain in 10 days. Probably someone figured out that ccex is on the wrong chain and jus mined and sold thes coins.

I'm on my mobile right now so I won't go too in depth until tomorrow, and I've been quite busy latley moving towns and getting ready to go back to school.

C-cex is not a fraudlant exchange by any means.

During May the casinocoin blockchain started to freeze due to issues with multi pools and some other things. At this time as a community and myself(Transcoder had no longer talked with me but appointed me as community rep and to handle all media/pr inquires)decided to take matters into our own hands and fork the chain with the required updates. We would have loved for Transcoder to stick around but for whatever reason he is not here with us anymore. The community was left with little and we've had to rebuild from the ground up.

I did mention to the owner of c-cex I may be able to reimburse the casinocoin lost during the whole discrepancy but the amount lost exceeds ten fold what would be reasonable in my mind)it was not myself who left casinocoin to die so I'm very sorry for your losses. Please contact me on Skype starting next Wednesday after canada day weekend to talk.

Goldseal is a trusted dev of casinocoin along with the other active members on this thread. Please direct all concerns to them untill next week as I'll be able
To chat with them for a few minutes.

Please DO NOT Solicite Services to my PM Unless they are to support Casinocoin.

http://csc.blockexp.info/tx/d10c284dd3042035fcd2e900f826c7940dc8dbe3839cb2e17aaef4cc7a48ab20#o1
Your transaction has actually taken place on the correct block chain and you sent your coins to wallet address CQ1wXJx81Gba1KzoKy2gBRP27JRTBzSWn8 which is probably created by c-cex. They should still have the wallet that contains that address and in your case your coins should be actually save, ... that is if they choose to correct their wallet onto the correct block chain.

Also up to the fork c-cex did not move almost any coins at all. Very little transactions took place there, almost all trading was done at cryptsy. It is obvious that some miners that were on the wrong chain abused c-cex to sell their now non-existing coins. I think we can not hold the community responsible for that. As i stated before, when i started https://www.megamineros.com/csc back in december i made some horrible mistakes. I decided that i did not want to lose the momentum and i payed about 50.000 CSC in compensation to users. That is the risk you take as a pool or exchange.

C-CEX can either try to get their hands on to the csc sellers and have them pay, reimburse the users themself or notify the users that they will not reimburse them and that they lost their coins.

Leasons learned for the dev team is to make sure alle pools and exchanges are aware of forks or updates long before they happen as in this case we seamed to have missed C-CEX!

Yes, if they sent to new wallet they should be posted on Your balance when we put wallet back online.

Thank You for Your opinions. I just want to make one thing clear: it is not a situation when we just missed important update. We did update from links of the thread exsists even now. But I had no idea that owner was changed and new thread was started. I also did not get any notification from owner or developer like I usually get from other coins. I just open btctalk - found source link and update. I did everything required from me. So I think this situation is very much different. That's why I started this discussion.

I think it is clear that C-CEX is not to blame here for this situation, neither the community. We simply needed to rally to save this coin that has such great potential!! I feel sorry for the users/customers that lost money over this but i think they can not hold C-CEX nor the community responsible for this. In the volatile and unmature market that CryptoCurrency still is you always need to watch your back and double check before doing large transactions. If it seems to good to be true (like a much lower price than on other exchanges) it generally is ....
