Well ... if we move forward, then carry on the accelerator ...

just a thought (in simplistic terms):

Today CSC is valued at about 1 penny (wallet values ...)

Today the network is about 2Ghash

If we reduce the 10CSC to 1CSC (ten times less), then we can also expect the network to reduce 200Mhash (ten times less), right?

When csc = $ 1USD (100 times ) then network also worth 20 ghâsh (100 times)

The obvious question is: is this enough value network ?? a secure network??

If so, send there the new wallet with the changes ...

Ajochems uploaded the current release candidate to https://github.com/casinocoin/casinocoin/tree/development/src

Please take a look and browse the proposed changes thus far

If I understand right, the change is scheduled to 1750000 block, in about 160 days, right? basically at the end of the year ...

I thought you guys were thinking about a change "more immediate", perhaps the middle or end of this month.

Yeah still discussing that, .... we might change that to block 1600000. We do want to give all involved parties some time to upgrade.

even if the block 1.600.000 are between 50 and 60 days, by my calculations ...

the block 1.550.000, about 16 to 20 days would be more appropriate, right ??

This block reward decrease is mostly about eliminating the dilution and providing a 30 year incentive to continue mining. If we were to mint all coins within 3 years, miners would only participate with higher minimum transaction fees. Fees like that could cripple a coin before it gets off the ground.

There we go...a valid point to reduce the reward. "To extend the amount of time before relying on fee's to support the network." Currently (I don't know what fee's are implemented but I don't think much) if the block reward were to go away there is not enough incentive in fee's (no one is really using this coin in any significant volume) to have anyone continue mining. The coin would basically be dead. It's hard to look ahead 3 years but I would imagine the volume of transactions would not be sufficient to generate enough money for miners in fee's.

So we are proposing to change the reward structure to extend mining out to 30 years. We are not proposing to change the overall supply (again)...just extending the time it takes to get there. I'm cool with that.  Smiley

That does not solve the issue of our relatively low hash rate but will leave that discussion on the table.

Strangely enough we have been almost the entire day at about 2.5 - 3 GHash, .... i can not explain where that comes from at these low CSC market rates???

I like the sounds of that.

Myself included but I'm sure anyone who mines reads these forums and knows of the prospects for the future!

Is anyone still mining here? I occasionally use my 280x but its just not powerful enough to be worth the stress on it.

Maybe somewhat my fault? I threw 600mh today at it.

Can anyone help me my casino wallet, when I open it it seems to be running but can open main screen ??
Lets try a few things!

-Use ALTTAB to switch to the off-screen application.
-Press ALTSPACE to bring up the system menu (you won't see it because it is off screen)
-Press R to select the "Restore" menu choice to ensure the windows isn't is maximized (you can not move it if it is maximized)
-Press ALTSPACE again, then M to select the "Move" menu choice.
-Press one of the arrow keys to initiate the movement.
-Now just use the mouse to place the window where you want.
-If you are using a non-english version of Windows, the "R" and "M" menu choices probably will be different.

--For Windows 7 users: Win + Shift + Left or Right will move the selected window to the monitor in that direction.

If that doesn't work please report back!
