The technique explained in the white paper is equivalent to splitting the coins you want to send, and send them to multiple address the receiver own.

While this question was poorly worded, it is sufficiently specific.  How does dividing coins up and sending them through X different addresses create an anonymous transaction?  The answer is, it doesn't.  Taint analysis of dark wallet proved this.
