Could someone make a complete noob tutorial for making your XC completely 100% safe. Teka you mention you have yours stored very safely what did you do?
Thanks :-)
We made one on the website: http://www.xc-official.com/wallet/Of particular relevance are encrypting your app, backing up your wallet.dat file, and backing up your private keys. Let us know if you have any questions, but the how-to should pretty much sort you out. Cheers, I must have missed that. The guide is fine for the latest wallet I presume? @ teka, do u mean backup wallet.dat in an encrypted fine on a USB? Yup or you can just put the password on the wallet within the qt and transfer it to usb.

So much inverse fud. The last pump was coordinated. The current price is a bit inflated. Crypto is a near-sighted endeavor. Why leave dead money for weeks when you can double up on a much cheaper coin in a day or so?
Or to lose your BTC on another shitcoin. Look at those P&Ds, when you see it pumpin, its already too late. People have lost money in XC. You can lose money in any coin buying at the top of a downward trend. Every coin is a P&D assuming you have the capital to be able to manipulate the price. I've doubled up on coins that were well into a pump. I wonder sometimes if some of you really believe the things you post. The longer threads on this forum seem less like civilized discourse and more like idol worship. People are long on this coin. We'd rather accumulate and hold than risk losing btc in some p&d. Buying at the top of some weekly downtrend means nothing when you're in it for the long-term. I'm guessing you're one of the people from the Misc who lost money on XC during that dump in early June? Not hating, just curious. The OP of that thread made a ton of money buying in early on Darkcoin and thought XC would follow the same trend. It didn't. You're basically in uncharted territory when it comes to the success of a particular cryptocurrency. People like to point to the rise of BTC, LTC, or DRK and look for patterns in an attempt to predict an altcoin's future, but this is a mistake imo. The landscape changes significantly and way too frequently. Anon is all the rage right now, in a few months some other feature will be. All you can do is try to predict what direction crypto will go, or you can chance your money on the short-term, highly volatile coins.

The longer threads on this forum seem less like civilized discourse and more like idol worship. Using anecdotal evidence coupled with the recommendation with using cheaper coins to double up. When you 'doubled up on coins', where do you think those coins came from? Someone had to lose for you to gain. Most significant P&D schemes are a result of insider trading, and not a result of having capital to 'manipulate the price' as you describe. You have to understand that some people believe in the long-term survivability and subsequent appreciation of the project.

Hey Teka.........on the wallet instructions page you posted.........why does it recommend starting the wallet via the “run-xc.bat” file instead of the x11coin-qt.exe file?

Would you please explain me the relation between XC coin and the soccer game? If not, what other expectations did you have for my reaction (actually the reaction of the whole planet, except some germs)? Update: Am I a racist just because I cannot stand racism?

There is isn't any which is another reason why you should not post those remarks in this thread. It was fine when I reopened and thereafter. The transfer took it over 550 so maybe this is an issue when the wallet qualifies to be an xnode? Whatever, it's superb - transfers take a few seconds so I barely had time to find it in the block chain. (This is feeling very much like the future.)

I got your point, my apologies. (off-topic: I'm pretty sure that you're going to laugh at me once you read this message, but think about it - 4 goals in 6 minutes against Brasil?! Come on... we are (at least most of us) not anymore in the kindergarden, that was just another vulgar military experiment; that was my point - this game is not anymore a fair play.)

You're basically in uncharted territory when it comes to the success of a particular cryptocurrency. Anon was all the rage. People expect it now or at least the promise of it. I didn't own any XC in early June and anyone who uses that thread as an excuse for losing money here did not actually read it.
Most people don't make money trading here or on a "reputable" stock exchange. If the price went up forever it could be assumed no one lost money, but that doesn't happen anywhere whether it's a P&D or not. You only lose when you sell anyway. Some people like collecting coins. Your observation of what it takes to P&D a coin lacks imagination. I've seen it done with a handful of Btc. It's a beautiful thing.

however we have been working with the VRC developers and all major exchanges to hard fork the coin at a position before the attack. This will allow us to retrieve the stolen coins and facilitate all withdrawals. We are also working with various exchanges to accommodate any losses they may encouter as a result of the required fork.
Can they really do that? Yup and they did. I saw a suggestion here (and is is pure speculation and may not be true)... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=692757.20 that MP may have been keeping a lot of VRC in the hotwallet in order to stake them. Is that a possibility, and is would that be a possibility with XC as well?

Why it says this address is not a x11 ? ForReal, you are on mainnet, Dan posted his testnet address. You have to run the client in testnet. There is a batch file in the latest release, run it and try again.

I don't think you belong in this crypto game because you lack a modicum of logic. What you said was inappropriate and embarassing in an official discussion thread. I was debating on reporting you and i'm neither a fan of Germany nor overly sensitive.
