Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Hey guys,
let me remind to all the new fellows in here that in my signature you can find the price speculation topic, if you wanna talk about XC price, and ofc the Coin control newb friendly guide. If you don't know what coin control is, then just READ that guide!

Is it normal for coins not to leave the balance area when staking? They have not moved into the stake area for almost 10 days. Wallet is unlocked for staking and always stuck on the same expected time to earn reward. Ideas?
I am staking XC with an unlocked wallet and it still says 31 hours until reward. I have been gone 3 days camping and still says the same thing. Previous to this it did the same thing with a different amount of time. Happened on my previous wallet and I upgraded to the new one and still the same thing.
always stuck on the same amount of time until reward and nothing ever comes in.
Patience is all I can really say. I've been stuck on 209 days for 3 days and my weight hadn't changed from "1". I closed the wallet tonight and reopened it. It now says my expected time to stake is 1 hour, and my weight changed to 14706. I'm not worried though....it eventually happens. With my old wallet it took 8 days before I got my first mining stake. It's described as kind of a lottery. It happens sporadically, but no matter how it happens you will get 3.33% annually. Edited to add: With the old wallet I was staking fairly regularly after the 8 days. With this new wallet, I haven't received anything yet, but I know I will eventually.

I can't read Dutch but according to xctalk the Dutch are already having a meet in greet in the Netherlands. Pretty cool! Wanted to try that here in the ATL but it seems we're all too spread out. Maybe some day.

here is a silly question, which file do i copy to a new wallet to have updated block chain without the long wait. thanks in advance.
is it for a new adress on a different pc? Just copy everything (with or without the wallet.dat depending new adress or not) in folder %appdata%/roaming/xcurrency to the other pc then start the new wallet. ps: the wallet.dat is really important... (this holds your coins)=> back it up on a usb-stick yes setting up on new pc. thanks so much for info. i have been here since the beginning. i wish i had more coin to my name. but i gather a little more every day. this is a great coin, well in my opinion the only coin for the future. oh and yes, well backed up with my wallet.dat. while i have your attention would you know what the optimal transaction amounts would be for staking? i'm trying to get best setup for staking. thanks again. Here is some info from the XC website on staking: To make your interest accrue at more regular intervals, you should create several addresses within your app and put between 50 and 500 XC into each one. To do this, use coin control. Links to coin control tutorials can be found here: http://www.xc-official.com/wallet/#send-coins-advhttp://forum.xctalk.com/index.php?/topic/161-coin-control-basic-functions-a-newb-friendly-guide/ (thanks policymaker!)

Tech corner should be the first target to grow, for getting the mom and pops to adapt to digital currency is something that is going to take a much longer time to do.

Hi all,
i'm pretty new in this world. I buy my first mining rigs january this year. I mine a lot of coins and i have learn some things about crypto currency. There is a lot of scam but there is also a great technical solution. This will be sound a little bit stupid for some to you but i thing that the humanity has forgot what exactly privacy mean and i thing that XC provide exactly this to the humanity . XC provide a real privacy for everybody in this world. I'm leaving in small country i east europe. The poorest in EU but we still have here our privacy. We still can make some things whiteout to thing is this legal or not. One of our biggest bank has bankrupt and lot of people has lost their money. I have hold my money in btc and after i sow XC i have traded all my btc to XC cause i think this will be future. Everybody need his own privacy and XC provide this to us. I'm glad to stack a bunch of XC in my wallet and wait for the time that everybody realise what XC provide to us. I hope most of you have understood what i mean. English i not my native language and i'm sorry for that. ... and i have drunk few whiskeys so pls excuse me:)
