It's not that participating across threads with legitimate challenges is an issue - what's undesirable is that people bomb threads with mindless antagonistic posts who's intention is to 'soil' the image of a coin without justification.
There were plenty of legitimate points that could have been made - e.g. the fact of Cloak's price being about 30 times cheaper than DRK's makes it a great hedge for DRK. Also, it has an interesting alternative approach to the mixing. I wouldn't call DRK's masternode system "centralised" but it's certainly more centralised than the clients are. That can be both a good thing and a bad thing but diversity of approach is positive and that gives CLK a legitimate market presence.
Most people have stakes in a few coins. If we all keep torpedoing each other's threads we'll all just mutually destruct.
The way to go is to take out a major stake in your favourite coin and then but a bit of the others in case you were wrong - that way everyone will have a horse in the race whoever comes out on top.
