One more drawback i can see is with this method is that a cheat dev can easily divert the hash to mine another coin of his choice and than shut the shop and run away.

Minerals is an interesting experiment and really uses a different approach, let us see if it will be successful or not...

Alternative crypto coins are all about innovation and trying different things, and Minerals does really try to do things in a different way, if it is the right or not only time will tell. However saying that it is bad, just because it is not like the rest of the pump and dump 1 day star alternative crypto coins is not right either. You may not like the idea, that is your own right to have an opinion, but the real problem seems to be that there is serious lack of trust caused by many scam coins lately and that is an entirely different story.

I'm sure that's quite true but seems that would not be in the devs best interest, and the coin seems to have a lot of interest from the community, but the lines are being drawn in the sand about the good and the bad of this approach now.... I'm somewhere in the middle still lol If the price holds where it is now I will give it a little more time today to see if bittrex can come up with anything for us, if not I'm going to another coin. The worst that can happen is miners get disillusioned and leave, like me, at that point the coin is dead or will see a certain quick death and may never see pos phase?? NO MINERS = NO COIN Smiley

There are some who are sick of the manipulation of all other new coins x11 x13 being hammered to death by rig renters and those f*king multipools... thats why I'm still here wanting to see this coin make it. If not I/we can always pack up and move on as we always do  Wink I am open minded and will try anything once......

Yes i agree. The way i see it is, Coins need big pools, exchange and miners to get noticed and mined by more people. Also i believe that the basic principal of crypto is transparency. No matter what happens, we should not move away from this.

On the other hand its becoming common now a days where each and every coins ( Even shit ones) are raped by big pools who only cares about pump and dump.

So we need to find a middle ground and i think this is a good start for it.

I wouldn't expect to hear anything from bittrex until POW is over. They've stated that hosting the coin now, would open them up to a double spend attack and they won't take that risk. Per the dev, bittrex has told him they will look at listing it after POW ends. At this point the pools will stop mining and the source and wallets are released. So it's a gamble at this point, but what crypto isn't these days?

Your a pool owner, biased?

I think so!

It's clear that the pool owners are pissed but for the most part of the people (small miners) I think they are happy with this. I finally have the chance to mine a lot more coins then if it were not limited to 50 Mh ...

So great success and no big whales being able to manipulate the price when it reaches the exchanges  Grin

If anyone has noticed, dedicated pool in particular has cozied up with all the big rig renters and multipools, and has been making money hand over fist for a few months now catering to them.... especially with the growth in x11 x13. So I certainly wouldn't expect anything encouraging or nice to be said from them, albeit they run a great pool network.

What YOU and your shitty friends are trying to do is to control, throttle and manipulate others. How fuckin ironic, ain't it?

I can just shake my head when I see pool owners talking shit here thinking about their own pockets under the pretense it's for the good of crypto.

Yeah I agree, Ive put up with a lot of attitude from some members who got in on the ground floor as well.

Lets open up Crypto to be fair (sorry, controlled) and arseholes like me get away with making profit from my investment?Huh

So bloody shoot me !

Im mining this coin, im holding, Im waiting for a good price and I WILL SEE A GOOD PRICE.

Plenty of pickings out there for those that hold more bitcoin than Ill EVER SEE.

Let the small bloke have a win.

Funny thing is I regularly use POOL.MN and the guys work bloody hard to be on every coin launch. Im a grafter too, I can relate to all of it.

Pat on the back deserved to Rubberpool and Minerals Dev.

+1 - especially for the "Let the small bloke have a win" bit

Why do so many r00kies scalp for a few pennies? I have a pretty clear picture of what is going to happen once everything goes "public". But once again I have put my little miner to worK on minerals for all of about 30 mins since zero day. I got nervous with the FUD.

Anyhow, I will hold for the "long" term and see where it takes me. Mining with a few gpus at this point can only really be a "hobby" anyhow.

the thing is . it is clear now that the pool owners are lunching multi coins.

this is a good sign that this coin will not really be what they claim it will be. it will only be a pump and dump. as will the other coins that they lunched.

why do i bother with this messages? i do not care at all if you all mine it for the pump and dump. but you are supporting people that dont care helping the cryptoworld but are trying to cheat you all out of you BTCs and the messed up part is that they are centralizing this coin.

god dman it. i love starcraft. would have been cool to have a coin dedicated to that!

Why almost all the negativity comes from owners of pools and not from simple miners?
And why I have not seen your pathetic posts in ann with: IPO, ninja-launch, darkcoin-like reward curve, short pow period, closed sources, various promises that are not met and other manipulations?

Yes, this type of distribution is a big field for possible scams, but while they are not.

It's a rhetorical questions.

I'm a miner, not only a pool owner.

And as some of you might have noticed, I run my pools mostly at 0 % fee as a hobby, I'm not "into profits" as some of you posted. If this coin was NOT for profit, why not open the source for every miner (also solo miners) and limit the MH/s in the source ? Why this way ? Well wait, the "official pools" take 1 % fee... aaah i see.. well its probably NOT for profit, its for the sake and peace of mind .. I seee :-)

If you're feeling comfortable with this coin - mine it - I don't, its a (big) scam - simple as that - remember my words.
