First of all, I'd like to apologize for the delay. While I understand the frustration, ensuring that we release a stable product is our top priority.
Despite multiple checks and load testing performed over last few weeks, launching a new mainnet with a real genesis data is quite a complicate task on it's own.
We are well aware that we beyond the schedule here, and asking for community patience and understanding, while we finalize the remaining tasks.
As per your comments:
* Testnet passed our load-tests last week and worked stably (otherwise we would announce delay in advance)
* The delay yesterday was due to our wish to verify the genesis balance with Bter (something we could indeed do earlier)
* The delay right now is due to seeing PoS results in mainnet we haven't seen in testnet, and our decision to analyze it before letting everyone else in
* Bitseed is our lead of research and developed, simulated and tested the PoS formulas, forum is a misc task that he did
* While we do wanted to have a cross-platform installer ready in time for launch, we have not committed to it. We don't expect anyone to build Window wallets themselves, and plan to release a cross-platform installer by the end of the week
* CoinSource will confirm our real-life identities, I'm not sure where it was said they will review the code. We going to hire a professional (and known) crypto-developer, to do the code auditing and analysis
* We said several times that PR and other activities will be only after launch
* It may seem that we doing all in last minute, however there is a well defined list of tasks that were closed before this moment (here is a partial screenshot -
http://take.ms/AMenM)
* Once we launch, we will welcome any feedback about our organization and management, as we always looking to improve
To summarize, we understand we are delayed, and we are not taking it easy.
The development team works non-stop right now on these last minute issues, in order to release the mainnet version ASAP.
Wulf, just so you know, I had sat here for like 30 minutes coming up with a response to your initial post about the issues and I was all ready to post it. BTT did the whole, you have new posts warning and so I looked and realized SyRenity had already responded with most of what I was going to say so I deleted it.
I know a lot of you like Wulf have been with us since the beginning of this whole ride. I assure we did not want to delay. Crypti literally means the world to us and we put a lot into this project. We actually thought we were good but in the world of Software development, you know bugs and issues can always raise their heads and unfortunately we had to take some extra time to validate everything.
We know we aren't perfect and we are trying as best we can to keep you all informed and keep on our schedules and produce what we say we will. We function like a lean startup and only have a team of 5 (each with different areas) right now so we are trying to learn and get better each and every day.
I can tell you that I have watched plenty of these launches and been critical of teams as well but now that I am one of the ones sitting in the hot seat and trying to do this launch, it's a lot harder, more time consuming, and stressful than I think I realized.
The only promise I can make to all of you is that we will be here, we will get better, we will listen, and we will always try to keep you as well informed as we can.
Once the Foundation is launched and we allow the member signup, we will send out newsletters and have a members board on our forum that will give us a chance to put out some under the hood type communications, as well as examples of our Trello Board / Roadmap. Things like the posts of our task lists that SyRenity posted earlier. Some things may have to be kept under wraps at times, but we plan to devote a lot more time to talking with the community once the launch is accomplished, settled, and we can hire more developers to take some of the load off of Boris.
We know you put your trust and money on us and we could not be more appreciative. When you have an idea and you start to bring it to light, you never know how others will perceive it. We put so much of ourselves into designing and working on Crypti and it honestly means the world to us that so many have put their confidence in Crypti and believe in our team.
The only thing I can say is that I am truly sorry we had to miss our deadline. I was probably more excited than any of you to see this launch because of all of the Crypto Currencies I have read about, I honestly just love Crypti. I don't say that as a dev team member but as a fan of Cryptos. Every time I log into our boards and go over new comments, every time we check off another box next to a task we have accomplished, or every time we come up with a new idea to add to our Roadmap, I just can't help but get excited! I can't wait for the next few months when we can share some of the other things we will be working on with all of you. Crypti truly is something new, something different, and something that has the potential to change the game.
Oops... I got all wordy again...
@SyRenity @GreXX Just a quick note: you are doing an
outstanding job managing things. Moreover, your intelligent, responsive and patient attitude toward the community is quite impressing. Indeed you are setting a new standard on multiple fronts with the work you are doing. Glad to be part of the project and looking forward to the launch and all the things you have prepared after that. Keep up the good work.
