so if they're using a stash of xem to pay for the silver coins, won't they have to sell said xem to pay which then with such large sell vol further lower the price?

in my opinion the order of silvercoins will happen at a moment when NEM is on the rise and that XEM can be easy sold in private deals towards business size investors

There are hundreds of stakeholders listed as shown on the block explorer earlier, most of them only holding one stake each.

NEM did have the best distribution of any Alt IPO. Unfortunately, I just don't see the Alt market going anywhere. Everyone is looking at Bitcoin and features like Rootstock will make many Alts useless. A business isn't going to integrate with an Alt when they can integrate with the largest Blockchain ecosystem (Bitcoin).  Right now, companies don't even know what to do with Blockchain, by the time they do, Bitcoin will have the features ready. Most people won't have the stomach for Alts beyond speculation. The only Alts that will survive (in my opinion) will be those that can directly interact with Bitcoin.  It sucks, but the Alt coin boom is over and dead.

On the contrary, the boom is imminent. We are at the beginning phase of Blockchain technology.

why they sell every time xem when we see raise btc? because xem in itself doesn't raise. xem doesn't move neither up nor down. therefore price xem is rigidly attached to btc price. from here also we see when raise btc begins that xem starts going down in price surely.

we need fiat pairs. xem/usd, xem/jpy, xem/cny. btc/xem, ltc/xem, eth/xem. more and more pairs with xem. only this way, building new exchanges and xem markets there can be new center of the universe. but you don't build it. any exchange it isn't constructed yet where all cryptocurrencies would cost in pair xxx/xem. build new exchanges on basis cryptocurrency xem and only then there is a chance to eclipse btc and to show to world of new center of the universe xem.

Actually overlapping the Bitcoin chart and the NEM chart, one can see the prices are not correlated at all.

I agree.  Blockchain technology is just starting to gain attention and is barely started to gain traction.  Plus it is disruptive a very entrenched system that is very resistant to change and so it hasn't, yet pretty much everything else has around it, so its time.

I've been watching several Alt's release very innovative tech (Nxt for example) but the price is stagnant. I agree we are at the early stages of a blockchain boom, but the way blockchain and Bitcoin is designed, companies won't have to look for an alternative to Bitcoin because of price or space or whatever.  Bitcoin will dominate, anything pegged to Bitcoin will see adoption for specific use cases, but independent Blockchains will die, just like intranets died. Look at new projects like IOTA, they are making interaction with other Blockchains a priority, because they see the writing on the wall from the last year.  You can sit here all day and say NEM, Nxt, or whatever is going to the moon, but sadly it's not true, be realistic and ask yourself why someone would transact with NEM over Bitcoin, ETH, Nxt, etc.

yes. he tries to tell us that we need to attach blockchain nem to blockchain btc. but we have much more the best blockchain than at btc therefore i wouldn't begin to attach on a place of devs blockchain nem to blockchain btc even if it is possible. i think that it's possible, but we it don't need to pull on ourselves a network which in future will die and us for itself will pull in a grave.
