There is a huge opportunity for NEM to gain way much more market cap if Catapult is released in the first week of August.

Though I do not like to push NEM dev team and I would prefer Catapult to take as long as needed for full release. Still I would like the NEM dev team to realize the potential of releasing Catapult at the time Bitcoin might split and where Ethereum scaling weaknesses are being surfaced.

Here is what Bitcoin is heading to in the coming couple of months:

- By July 21: SegWit2x software is released and supporters begin using it.
- July 21 to July 31: The community monitors how many miners deploy SegWit2x:
  • If more than 80 percent deploy it consistently, that should signal community-wide adoption of SegWit and the avoidance of a split, at least for now.
  • But if a majority do not deploy, expect anxiety within the community to grow as the focus shifts to the Aug. 1 deadline.

- Aug. 1: UASF is deployed by its supporters, who begin checking if bitcoin transactions are compliant with SegWit.
  • If a majority of miners still do not deploy SegWit2x or otherwise accept SegWit, and if UASF supporters do not back down, then two versions of bitcoin’s blockchain could come into existence: a UASF-backed one where only SegWit transactions are recognized, and another where all trades -- SegWit and non-SegWit -- are recognized.
  • If a split occurs, bitcoin will likely begin existing on both blockchains in parallel, resulting in two versions of the cryptocurrency. Expect traders to quickly re-price the value of both, likely leading to massive volatility.

The Japanese exchange paid 300 million to buy NEM, is this news false? NEM went up a little bit yesterday

No, they bought 300 million NEM.

Oh, this is very significant amount of investments. Is there any article or news about this purchase?

https://www.reddit.com/r/nem/comments/6kr7o2/japan_exchange_coincheck_purchased_300_million_xem/

Thanks a lot for the link. I need to start using reddit  Cheesy

yes, 50 - 60 million USD.
That also correlates with the "common sense course analysis": every eye-witness can see that when the price is going up, the volume is bigger than when the price is dropping.
E.g. look the poloniex curve for the four last days.
During the last 30 hours there are 2 volume peaks, where someone was selling. But the volume is smaller than the buying volume on 3rd of July.

When summing up these volume data and the above 300 MXEM investment, I would like to ask why someone does want to sell in these prices Smiley

Poloniex, last 24 h :
The volume peaks are again from buy transactions ...
are the whales taking the bigger parts again ?

It seems like sell pressure is lowering, so I think that about 4500 sato could be our bottom, and after that we will see slowly raising.
Simple logic.

How come that the devs are not interested in adding NEM to Ledger Nano S???
I'm highly interested in an addition and I guess I'm not the only one.
Addition to Trezor is awesome but Ledger Nano S is as important IMO.

any updates on trezor?

as it works for trezor it should be done for ledger as well. Or are there any difficulties regarding the ledger?

any updates on trezor?
that's the latest update I know about.
https://twitter.com/spudowiar/status/881144378185715712

as it works for trezor it should be done for ledger as well. Or are there any difficulties regarding the ledger?

maybe this:
"One challenge I see is that they would need to implement harvesting and delegated harvesting which adds some additional labor costs." (from reddit)
But wouldn't it be enough to secure the transactions via the nano wallet? I mean confirm transactions made with the NEM nano wallet on the Ledger Nano S like it works with the myetherwallet f.e.
I don't think it's necessary to secure harvesting with a hardware wallet Huh Roll Eyes

How come that the devs are not interested in adding NEM to Ledger Nano S???

This is not our decision right now, but nem.io fundation.
I guess price might have to do with this. (You don't think they do it for free, do you?)

Ok. any word from the foundation on this? jabo maybe?
I think the community highly demands Ledger integration.
Can we set up a donation fund for this?
I think Trezor integration is also a work done by an independent developer paid with donations. isn't it?

XEM has proven to be relatively safe during the crypto crash last weekend. Only lost 10%.
I hope daily volume will increase after catapult. A stable coin could attract people.

It did go down to $0.11 I think this is going to be normal from time to time now that XEM already have some tokens under them such as DIMcoin.
Did XEM team supported DIM and send funds to it?

As it stands in the last 7 days NEM went down by 24.78%. From top ten coins only IOTA and EOS lost more value. Also, we moved to 7th position from the 4th. We are not doing as well as one would hope. Let's wait for BIG news soon.

Crash of BTC is just due to segwit FUD, and some who hope to manipulate and buy cheap  incase BTC forks and they end up with 2 coins.
Either way, we have come through rather well.
So many strong fundamentals with XEM, along with many great projects such as Luxtag, Landstead, Xarcade, etc.
