NemProject I'm not sure of.  I think its an older repository of the core team from before Symbol was started, but they are mainly active on the nemtech repo.
But latest wallet release here https://nemplatform.com/wallets/#desktop is from NemProject:
https://github.com/NemProject/NanoWallet/releases/download/2.5.0/NEM-Wallet-win-2.5.0.exe

Grin  Ah OK I see now.  The official Xem wallet is available on their site nem.io too, but it looks like nem project is Xem and NemTech is for Symbol

An update package has been released:
Symbol Desktop Wallet v0.14.0 33
Symbol Mobile Wallet v0.4.2 34
Apple Symbol Mobile Wallet v0.4.2 16
Symbol CLI 3

Read the details here: https://forum.nem.io/t/symbol-launch-desktop-mobile-wallet-release-ledger-support-08-02-2021/27329

Well, downloaded symbol-desktop-wallet-win-0.14.0.exe and ran it.
It installed files to C:\Users\jkoil\AppData\Local\Programs\symbol-desktop-wallet\.

When started symbol-desktop-wallet\Symbol Wallet.exe from Dekstop icon, there appeared a big white window ...
no texts, no progress bars ... and it remained empty for 25 minutes. And still is empty while writing this post.

In the Task Manager there is a process 'Symbol Wallet (4)'    :     CPU-usage 0 ... 0.5 % and Memory-usage 117 MB.
It has 4 sub-processes, which are named as "Symbol Wallet".
Their Memory-usages are  21,  5,  28  and 63 MB.
Only the last sub-process has sometimes CPU-usage.

If there is a problem with the network (bad or missing connection to some 'node'), then I would wish at least something shown in the UserInterface ...

Where are the last updated guides?
I guess this https://docs.symbolplatform.com/getting-started/setup-workstation.html  was for testing and TESTNET  and I understood that it was for creating an account. But now we have already the accounts   http://report.experimental.symboldev.network/ok1.html

What did I miss now ??

Edit:  downloaded the same number 0.14.0 package, which was 9 kB bigger. The same result.
The package 0.10.0 was at least showing something.
These newer ones are blank.  The CPU % is 0 ... 1 % for the 3 latter processes, but mainly due the mouse movements on the window.

Downloaded symbol-desktop-wallet-win-0.14.1.exe and ran it.
It installed files to C:\Users\jkoil\AppData\Local\Programs\symbol-desktop-wallet\.

When started symbol-desktop-wallet\Symbol Wallet.exe from Dekstop icon, there appeared a big white window ...
no texts, no progress bars ... and it remains empty.

Directory blob_storage\212819c2*  is empty.
In the leveldb\LOG is only 3 lines:
2021/02/22-13:08:02.498 19bc Reusing MANIFEST
2021/02/22-13:08:02.498 19bc Recovering log #3
2021/02/22-13:08:02.499 19bc Reusing old log

That file is the only updated file. The rest ones in that directory are from last May.
Same case with the Session Storage.

The previously written problems exist.
Should I install something else too?

combine the two vectors...
magnitude of resultant force is

At first, I thought that it's not the best time for new announcements, because the BTC price was falling, and all market was falling down too. But situation can change till 12 March. So XEM price still can be pumped.

I read somewhere that this drop of BTC is due to BTC futures options expiry at 26.02. so if this was the reason and if price does not drop in 30-40k range and cause too much fear, we should see better days for overall crypto since this weekend... Just an opinion and some hope, not advice:)

How futures' expiration act in these cases?

Some are guessing(?) that the drop was planned to cause some panic and then take the advantage with selling as short ..

CBOE uses Gemini exchange as settlement price and at Sunday night UTC, there was an warning on socials that big amount of BTC has been moved on Gemini wallet, so in this way they might tune settlement price in direction on shorts. At least I understood that way, and now can not find the text:(

I am sure binance will support the snapshot but i am not sure it they have announced it yet or not ?  The price of XEM is low at the moment and its best time accumulate XEM. The free snapshot coins XYM could be of good value.

I intend to keep it on some exchange. For previously planned snapshot time in January, Binance planned to stop XEM activities much earlier than Poloniex, and Bittrex didn't plan to support airdrop, so, in such scenario, there is some room for someone to drop the price while we are locked. So, I will try to choose exchange with shortest trading downtime, just to be able to react on eventual sharp drop. What do you guys think?

nope,
these XEMs and XYMs are so called pre-mined coins.

Which is better than with FIAT coins, which can be later pressed more than has ever been planned Smiley

I do not clearly understand your point of view. Even if you keep your XEM in your private wallet, the price can still drop on exchange ? And After the snapshot XEM will dump hard as people who are accumulating the free coins, will dump them once the snapshot is over.

Price of XEM can drop even few hours before snapshot, right, especially if it goes very high. So, I would like to have possibility to stop loss in case of sharp drop, or take some profit in case of sky high. Last time Binance intended to stop trading 6-7 hours before estimated snapshot time, and Poloniex 1-2 hours before. If so, I will move my XEMs on Poloniex, for example. This was what I thought:)
