Stop stop stop. here is why I am anti paper clip https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=720208.0 and I am also anti bitmaintech switch for a simple reason those pins have 5 volt 20-30 amps they can ground out on the should of the s-3 or on a metal shelf. BTW I have nothing to do with the ebay seller that sells a safer product then bitmaintech is selling. now if mstrongbow from this site prints a proper back plate for the bitmaintech switch I would like it. I am not taping over the pins with a Macgyver like fix. 2.5 years on paperclips across 20 psu's and never a problem

Has anyone in the U.S. had problems with customs? My packages got held up and had a status of "A valid tax ID or deferment number is missing and is required for clearance." They were in Anchorage, Alaska when I got that status update. Customs and/or UPS is telling me Bitmain didn't put a tax ID on the boxes and they had to have my SSN and I'm going to be required to pay a tax on them now. What the hell...
I doubt you will pay tax. Perhaps a small brokerage fee if that. I had this kind of thing with Bitmain, or maybe it was Spondoolies, don't remember. Just call UPS, supply the required paperwork, you may need to fill out an FCC form too.

You won't pay a tax. They just need that number so the NSA can track what you're buying and match it against your email and phone records. ;-)

They just wanted my SSN and didn't say I needed to fill out any other forms or provide anything else. They said something about having to pay 32$. I hope that's for all 14 boxes and not 32$ each. I don't know why I'm being required to pay anything else at all, what a bunch of BS. Bitmain needs to start putting required info on their packages!

So basically anything valued over $2500 needs "formal clearance" and you have can either act as your own agent or pay someone to be your broker. I believe however that if you tell them it's for personal use and not for resale, they don't need to go through formal clearance and brokerage. But I could be wrong. I'm sure someone here has experience with this kind of thing.

no problem getting $2500 worth into the UK we just HAVE to pay 20% tax plus £11-00 brokerage fee

Is there any chance BITMAIN will get the hash rate increased to acheive the 478GH ? May be an announcement will come as an optimised miner after the already sourced PCB and components are over. May be after a cuople of batches. BITMAIN may be moving strategically now.

Can anybody help me out: Hey all, my S3-B5 is being shipped via. DHL. DHL wants me to send them email/invoice where is description of item in the package, it's value, shipping fee and transaction copy (paypal/bank transfer). What to do? What do I send them? I paid in bitcoins, so there is no paypal/bank transfer reciept to send them.
sorry for my poor english.
I sent them a copy of my payment confirmation in bitcoins (order paid confirmation from bitmaintech) and they refused to accept it, since their system can only calculate "real currency". Wrote a ticket on bitmaintech about this. I also made a ticket on bitmaintech.com time is money (( need help asap.

I finally received mine the other day and UPS did indeed charge me money on drop-off. It had something to do with that "no tax id or deferment #" on package message and the driver didn't know if it was UPS charging the fee or customs charged UPS the fee and inturn they charged it to me. He said in 10 years he's only had this happen one other time. Either way, Bitmain needs to make sure all the proper tax id/info stickers are placed on their shipments. It was only 32$ but the driver of course did not accept cash (or bitcoin), so I had to talk him into following me all the way uptown to the post office to get him a money order before he would give me my packages.

That's B.S. that the driver wouldn't take Bitcoin! Seriously though, have you asked Bitmain for a refund or credit for the $32? Seems appropriate that they pay you back for that.

Is there any chance BITMAIN will get the hash rate increased to acheive the 478GH ? you should be able to reach that and more easily with the S3 .. i have 8 out of 9 S3 ants hashing 500+ g/hs clocked @250 .. and the 9th one is hashing at 475 g/hs @237 clock .. it is possible to achieve the better hash rates on your own .

This may just be a one time fee by DHL oops, just saw the charge was from UPS, I had to pay $32 for my first shipment from Zeus to DHL. For several afterwards, didn't have to pay anything. On the other hand UPS didn't charge anything for my 6 S3s.

I'm curious as to why you ordered 20 units and are just now trying to figure out how to power them? If you want to run 3, then get some EVGA Supernova 1300G2's or something.
