Q: is it expected that when staking using the core wallet, my entire wallet balance automatically gets move to my "stake" balance, i.e. wallet balance goes to zero and staking balance now equals previous wallet balance?

UPDATE: now my staking indicator says "staking inactive, no coins to stake" whereas previously I was successfully staked. My wallet now shows two transactions that do not appear in my wallet history, but are on the blockchain. Unless I'm missing something here about staking, it appears I've been hacked and my wallet drained.

Anyone else seeing this?

Additional Info: my wallet is running on a box that no one else but me has access to and was encrypted with a passphrase that never resided on the local machine and left locked after testing the lock/unlock functionality several times when first initiated.

UPDATE 2: Ok, now my wallet balance is restored, I no longer see a "staking balance" in the Overview and a new genesis transaction has shown up. Also, I am now staking again and making progress. Is this the way staking actually works? It seems like the catalyst for my temporarily zero'd out balance is the new genesis transaction I received today. Since things appear normal now, I guess maybe my staking balance goes through some kind of transition state or audit of some kind with each new genesis transaction? Weird.

Still curious to see if this is normal or not.

What are the biggest criticisms/concerns about the nexus consensus system? Ive been researching and am really excited about the innovation, but there dosent seem to be anyone who can argue with Cantrell. Is the system that robust or is there just so few people looking at the tech that it appears so?

Hopefully, I could reach 1-2% without trust reset so it would be transferred nicely to Tritium. Then unstoppable 24/7 staking until 3% year by year. Someday, maybe after 5 years, the price will reach $1000 per coin. I will be ready to retire then, sounds like a plan  Grin

Yup, Colin's mind is just that far into the future, that no one is there to challenge him yet.

Nexus will kick ass once the satellites begin going into orbit.

Even with out the Nexus mesh Network, Nexus is a superior crypto to anything out there.

A lot of the criticisms were hashed out in the early days while Colin was in the planning stages of Coinshield and the development of the foundational Nexus blockchain. Since the community had so much input, many issues were resolved which is what has made this project so strong. I don't hear many concerns about the technology, but can't really speculate on the reason why. Personally, I do believe the system is very robust and Colin and community thought of most (if not all) of the important aspects: solving the scaling issue on-chain, economics, preparing for the quantum future, etc.

Everyone has been sent invites, but it's possible yours was missed in which case I apologize. Make sure to check your spam folder just in case, and if you don't see it please email admin again.

As for Cygnus/Diana, he said that he does not wish to follow the Nexus Intentions and Guidelines that the community collaboratively worked on and agreed upon. That is a voluntary choice that anyone can make as per freedom of association.

Here are the Intentions and Guidelines: https://nexusearth.com/intentions-guidelines/

GRS is better than nexus

GRS runs on a centralized network.
GRS is not quantum-resistant.
GRS is too 2016.
GRS is dead.

Be humble.

Check the volume of transactions on coinmarketcap.

It s 4160 BTC during last 24 hours for GRS
Only 69 BTC for Nexus

Nexus IS not on binance.
I like Nexus but too many words, any acts

How is nexus Rocket/satellite/R&D  funded?

The Nexus blockchain has a funding mechanism built-in through a set of Ambassador and Developer keys. The funds from the Dev keys go to paying developers, the Ambassador key funds are used for operating costs like marketing and rocket/sat launches. They are calculated by decaying algorithms so the distribution is steady over time.

As Nexus becomes more distributed, people will also be able to contribute to the mesh network by owning a node in space or a node on the ground, making sure that the software AND hardware remain decentralized and distributed.
