The #nexus-conference was the best conference I've been to in the crypto space (since 2013) because it established a new high water mark for "interdisciplinary" cross-sector discovery and insight. I was hopping from legal and regulatory panels on ico's which will absolutely keep people out of jail if they follow the guidance given, to panels on how to use Nexus for solving the cannabis industries cash only issues, to @videlicet talk outlining the multi-dimensional vectors for Nexus which are coming down the line. I took pages of notes on everything from Ethereum Cash and Meddici labs, to Argon and Segwit. but the best thing was how this was setup, to foster hours and hours of conversation with the speakers on equal footing. the level of professionalism pulling this thing off without a hitch, it speaks volumes about the organizational abilities of the Nexus team. the way you do something is the way you do everything, and this is a great indicator as to the abilities of the Nexus team. thanks guys! - quote from Nexus Slack
Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Hi mates,

I wanted to send my NXS to my wallet from Cryptopia's but there's a maintenance message saying "Investigating fork".  What does it mean ? And sorry if it has already been discussed or answered previously in the thread... :/

People in the NXS slack said that Cryptopia told them they are actively working on the issue.  I'd guess it will be resolved soon.  In the meantime you can use Bittrex if you like.

I will wait a few days... i don't use Bittrex nor have an account on it. Smiley But thanks ! Smiley

Thank you for the kind words. I am glad you enjoyed the interdisciplinary nature of everything.  I have heard the same from numerous people as have others on the Team.  It took a lot of folks to get everything done, but turned out wonderful.

Thanks for coming and experiencing The Nexus Conference with us Smiley

It's solo mining, so it can take some time to hit a block with the high difficulty that nexus has.  Right now blocks are worth ~$25 each, so with 5 1060's you can't expect to hit many blocks.  Maybe you'll hit one / week on average.  But with variance you could go several weeks without hitting one.  Then on the other hand you could hit a couple a day if you get lucky.

Hmm looks like the slack invite page is down temporarily.  I'll make sure the admins in slack know.

Was there any recent FUD or something that I missed? Why did everybody start dumping their coins suddenly? I thought the conference would finally bring some much needed attention to Nexus and a few more exchanges might want to give it a try.

Not that I know.  In my opinion the price doesn't correlate to the positivity of what came from the conference.. Could be people manipulating the price to buy lower.  Or people bought in high expecting it to continue indefinitely on the same trend and are selling out of fear now.  I think the price will bounce back up eventually though.  In the long term Nexus has great potential.  A new developer was added to the team.  Tritium is on the horizon, and new 3D blockchain technology is in development which solves blockchain scaling issues..  I think the future is indeed very bright for Nexus!  I think the price drop presents a great opportunity to get in now if you aren't already, or to load up more if you can  Cool

It's still above the long term uptrend for sure, but such a sharp drop indicates some large holders decided to get out at this particular moment. Back when Bittrex was showing the largest wallets the supply of Nexus was very centralised, I thought that must have changed during the last year or so, but perhaps that was not exactly the case.

Colin (Nexus founder) just posted this in the nexus slack:

"Right now have about 8 coders we are getting started so expect development to be much faster from here forward especially since the architecture I've been designing for 3 years is done. Sorry to those that have to wait for the shiny wallet while the engine is complete but if Henry ford built what people asked we would only have faster horses"

Shocked 8 coders, that is some great news

another gem of a post from Colin in the nexus slack:

"It'll grow as it grows in the time it takes for it to become what it will be. Right now the market is rinsing out the profiteers and allowing an entry position for those that truly believe. The up and downs of a market moving like a sine wave are good for distribution as every greedy individual dumping on news and buy rumors sells it to people that believe in a vision of changing the world. I'm happy to know so many people here that are aligned with these principals. In the longer term we have barely gotten started."

Love the cheap NXS.
Just scooped up some more.

Have you watched the Nexus: State of the Union speech yet by Founder, Colin Cantrell?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HLzgDxcFH0&feature=youtu.be

All the pissing and moaning about the drop in price never takes into account the skyrocketing of NXS before the conference.
All coins retrace to find their new support level.

I see that the release date of a new wallet a carried not once time.
People do not see real development NXS from what was promised in the beginning.
So we see a natural market reaction..
