we got a list of the questions being asked?

One here, will Nexus blockchain be able to handle Visa-Mastercard volume smoothly also having free transactions at the same time? If so is in the short-middle-long term?

And for the Calculus Space Cryptography that is going to be developed for Nexus leaving behind ECC, to implement a new system of cryptography like this one are we talking 5-10 years or is it something you had already thought about prior Nexus?
In order to get the maximum amount of activity points possible, you just need to post once per day on average. Skipping days is OK as long as you maintain the average.

it was noted in the interview that first impressions/website for new members are not very informative.

what are the plans for this?

I see the nexus earth website is now uploaded and active. can we make the ann on here a bit more user friendly? This is the place that all new people to crypto come and with an active well presented and understandable Ann we can start expanding out to new people.

I have been trying to explain it to friends and investors but I am terrible at it lol.

I would like to see the ports listed for wallets and mining, in the network specifications in the ANN.

We are working on a new OP as we speak.  It is challenging to balance the technical information and still communicate all the important information in an easily understandable way but we hope to have something out soon.  It will complement the website and be more streamlined.

The ports for the CPU pools are listed in the mining section after the pool address.  What other ports would need to be listed?

What happened to the two pools? Huh

http://nexusniropool.cestballot.fr/ News :

A botnet admin (Nminer on slack) found a wait to send bad message to the pool. He can crash the pool software.

videlicet works to fix it, but we have to be sure this fix works good . we will works with paulscreen too ( to update his pool) I keep you posted

Videlicet will release a new Nexus wallet to fix it too.

We are sorry but pool is down.

I'm 100% new to this coin, so I wonder if there are benefits to solo mining using cpu and gpu at the same time, or if they somehow conflict with each other? I have an i7 and a gtx 860m, would they be roughly equally productive, or is one mining channel more productive than the other by design? I apologize if this question makes no sense.

Firstly yes it is possible, but one cpu thread must be reserved for the gpu mining software, the remaining cpu threads can be used for cpu mining. This is done in windows via affinity or in linux by numactl. Secondly i notice that you are using a laptop, mining in general on laptops is not recommended due to the heat generated and potential for damaging components, further more mining with both cpu and gpu on laptop would make these issues even more likely.

To answer your question straight forwardly, mining this coin is quite pointless, whether it be through a CPU or a GPU. You really wont find anything, even if you had a decent desktop. Your best bet would be to buy on a dump and hold (if you really believe in this coin).

Good that now we have a short introductory video   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dal30-4nA1I  it was highly needed, the first two that we have in the main page are good for crypto people but they are extremely long for a new person that is coming to checkout Nexus and thanks to smartphones and social networks we have the attention span of an ant, now that we have the nexusearth site going what do you guys think we put all the videos that we have in a nexusearth youtube channel? as they are right now are very dispersed and for sure this intro video which is the kinda of type we need for the welcome will be forgotten as there is nowhere to find it, we can even put on that channel the three videos about cpu-gpu mining and setting up the wallet, all in one place that belong to Nexus.

Was checking the DASH youtube channels they had the old one and now after they hired Amanda B. Johnson from the Daily decrypt to do the marketing-promotion of DASH they are promoting the new one and as usual you get welcomed with a short straight to point 2 minute intro video, lets do the same that way we can give use to Nexus intro video as well.

Here is the old DASH channel   https://www.youtube.com/user/DarkcoinTV

and the newone   https://www.youtube.com/c/DashOrg

Just to add this as its good advice from Amanda, here in crypto we love these fancy words, decentralization, consensus, etc... in this short video she gives some good idea on how to explain crypto to a newcomer as these word wont have meaning to them and what can we do to fix it, we can apply these principles to a future intro video for Nexus as well as this one we have now is directed more towards crypto people.

here is the video   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMamUypjrZ0

Here is the DASH intro video, less than 2 min and no fancy words    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0oNO3mbBE8

These are all great ideas.  I will have to take a look at these videos.  It is most definitely challenging trying to explain concepts in blockchain to newcomers for sure.  I'm sure with nightandday's video wizardry we can come up with something.  The Promo video is a good start for sure.

I am going to tweak the OP a little today (add the Promo video and new website link).

One a side note here the Jaxx wallet I think these guys are really gonna change things by finally getting abstract complicated blockchains to be used the masses by making it easy and fully integrated with current tech: mobile, pc, mac, Linux, chrome and Mozilla extension, shapeshift and coinbase integration and China market targeting, for sure nxs will be added to this service in the future.

Here is the gist of it     8:15  till 12:45
