Many people are cheering for litecoin for it proporting to adopt a technology developed Bitcoin. It now experiences a price fall of almost 7% after the market correntd from the news break out. The fact that litecoin could essentially become an extended testnet doesn't mean that it has any real world use other than being another alt.

Following the trend doesn't always causes good thing. Especially if you buys when its price pumps. Litecoin is mainly used in gambling casinos nowadays so I think its price will soon regain its previous price since it has its uses. It is normal to the crypto- coins to stiff pump or dump its price due to some manipulation happening in the market but will regain its price in time. So just wait for it.

Not really.  Segwit gets activated, and tested, and new apps developed and build upon it - it will be the new test bed for scaling Bitcoin!

Ltc will pump in the short term. When any cryptocurrency has this much hype and attention for so long, a strong pump is very possible. Despite miner drama, ltc has held a 90k+ range for the past few days and even if it reaches lower support level over the proceeding weeks while segwit is implemented, any dips should be seen as a buying opportunity. Ltc has been a stable coin relative to other cryptos, with consistant volume backed by the chinese and even if some chinese miners attempt to sabotage ltc UASF will activate segwit. Dont underestimate ltc volume or its community. Strong support imho.  I am targeting $20-30 for this year.

Good to know! Now that F2pool has closed their short they can go long again and adopt segwit. Of course someone else might decide they need a little more ltc or usd before the next push up, put in a short to accumulate funds, and say they want to think it over a little longer too  

Shocker, it looks like this is what's happening... miners jerking everyone around so they can manipulate the market for maximum profits. Side note: I'd be curious to see Nakamoto's thoughts on market manipulation by drama like this, if he ever discussed that.

The other thing to consider is core has a strong incentive to pump ltc during and after segwit adoption. For example, lets say ltc fully implements segwit successfully, do you think it would look good for core if the price then crashed? Core folks are already pointing at LTC price and saying "see! see! people want segwit.. it's good for the price!" Well, obviously this narrative isn't possible if the price doesn't pump impressively. And my guess is whales aligned with core have the means to do it.

If / when (even if UASF is required) Segwit is activated Litecoin will have a monumental increase.

The problem is right now everyone is banking on the increase and the sell walls are too large for a whale to tackle without the gurantee of segwit. We will likely revisit last weeks lows at least once before the soft fork locks in.

Lot of people here talked of it that LTC is dead and finally here is the proof that lite is not dead and that he is far from it. He still have everything that one coin need to so in future he will have all the good of crypto and good support.

Currently it's at the edge of activation, I think it will go below 75% in a block variance event and the counter is reset back to 0 since as far as I know the signaling must be continued.

More hashrate is needed again, because of Jihan's anti-segwit signaling.

We have to sustain this over a much longer period, before Segwit does get activated.
The positive is that even if the counter is reset, and the hashing power is over 75%, eventually it will be sustained for the required 6048 out of 8064 blocks.

As long as 75 percent of blocks in a 8064 block activation period (6048 blocks) are mined as segwit blocks, segwit locks in. The counter does not reset as you think if it temporarily dips below 75 percent.

True, however most bitcoin ATMs for example can be easily programmed for Litecoin. One big problem with BTC is if you're trying to pay a hooker in Vegas do you really want to wait 10 minutes for your transaction to maybe confirm? You want a nice quick settlement so you can go out and get a burger at the Luxor.

I strongly agree because the source code of litecoin is 90% identic with the source code of bitcoin.
It will quite easier to put litecoin to be another choice on bitcoin atm. In these days more of the bitcoin users have used litecoin to be the off-chain transaction.

Never think that way, that could make you make bad trading decisions. People will not leave Bitcoin for a roller coaster altcoin because of the transaction time. Because this transaction time is not a problem in Bitcoin, but an attack against it, making it way too slow now, and we know from where it does come : Bitcoin Unlimited.
