Litecoin is officially dead, why you may ask?

Verdict: Litecoin is dead, it hasn't been updated in years, it's a practically abandoned coin. I'm gonna feel really sorry to all the litecoin bagholders that are still "HODLING" when Litecoin reaches $1, 50 cents, 10 cents etc.

This is officially the best post on bitcointalk for the moment. It took some time but CONGRATS Hero Member Darkota !!! Ahahah Wink Wink Wink

Litecoin is a respectable coin from  a historical stand point but it has absolute no chance of ever going main stream. None! Why the fuck are people buying it??? There is too much money and not enough good coins? Ignorance?  It will be back below $10m within 24 months. How can I short it?

This. Litecoin has no distinguishing features at all any more. Ridiculously overpriced, like most of the altcoin market at the moment.

Lol  Grin The main thing Litecoin is lacking when compared to Bitcoin is media attention.

The fundamentals of Litecoin - faster transaction speeds, faster mining, etc - makes it a better coin for trading and exchanging with others on a day to day basis.

Since Bitcoin is so slow, it will most likely function as a coveted store of value for folks rather than actual money.  Wink

Technically LTC is superior to BTC now
Economically 4x as many coins exist - so LTC should be around 0.25 BTC or $400 now

RIP LTC  Cheesy
Yes, RIP LTC
I think LTC will have a fantastic price like bitcoin right now, But that's just my mind 3 months ago and now LTC is getting dark.

Digital currency is full of surprises

OVERVALUED?  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Maybe but still back in the day it was 30 LTC for 1 BTC in that let say golden age.
You maybe little overvalued it little but it would be nice to see this  Grin

Good would be to be like it was back then so around 0.03-0.04 could be easily achieved price.
Im not gonna judge you prediction it would be excellent to see this price i would be happy (im happy now with the price), but still think it would be hard to accomplish you prediction.

Nobody will use it despite it having a 24-hour volume of over 200 grand? https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/litecoin/

I think your use of the word "Nobody" is just a little bit extreme.

if payment processors take it on then I'll use it. bitcoin no longer makes sense for modest buys. litecoin does.

I'm thinking about selling some less popular altcoins on one exchange then using the bitcoin to buy coins on a different exchange.

I could just withdraw the BTC but if I buy LTC on Exchange 1 then send it to exchange 2 and sell it for bitcoin it will transfer about 200% faster.

Litecoin truly is the Silver to Bitcoin's Gold. Bitcoin is for high value, low speed transactions with a significant fee. It will eventually be used for houses, cars, etc.

Litecoin is perfect for ordinary use of $1-$200 of value and soon with lightning network you can even give a merchant bitcoin with litecoin if that is their preference.

I still don't get this bitcoin for high value thing.

litecoin can do the same plus the cheap stuff too.

it's going to attract the best developers and more miners.

security will increase as will the number of users.

I see where you are coming from that Litecoin can do high value as well.

I think the Bitcoin for high value idea is more about the fact that it is the peg for all other cryptos to be traded in. It is the first coin of course and it has a profound effect on market movements. It will continue to be number one because of name recognition and the overall stranglehold it has on cryptocurrency markets. It will never have the required 95% consensus to change things so it will remain more or less how it is.

Bloated, high fee, high value, unsuitable for minor transactions. Therefore it will be used for High Value transactions because that is the only time it is a good option. It's a speculative hedge of the overall crypto market cap and that is its new primary function.

Or something.

but if all this super cool stuff happens on litecoin that inspires bitcoin to do the same in which case litecoin is back to square one to an extent.

I'd love to know who came up with the trope that bitcoin was destined to be set in stone.

there are enough eyes on it to have a major problem with that.

Maybe you are right, but as I see lighting network in test there is a place for Bitcoin as gold and litecoin as silver..And I do not hear that Bitcoin will adopte Segwit soon.

So litceoin will be on lighting network alone?? there will be no Bitcoin only logo of Bitcoin, but Bitcoin will BE NOT THERE.

Its bullshit man..Its a sandbox for Blockctream. They just want our money for their testing...go test on someone else mthfckrs!

So it means Blockstream will develope litecoin Segwit for what purpose?Huh And how long?Huh

They will not get segwit on Bitcoin. But yeah it will be fun to test lighting network for example...even with inactive Bitcoin wich still will be there but you just can use it on your own net Smiley) Grab your money from ltc before its collapsing again. Charlie just want to give back debts for those who buy his ltc @45$ ..or maybe just wait 50 and let your money back from him and maybe he will give bonus too..but i am not sure realy, all is so unstable there
