The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Quick update on what's going on with BritCoin;

We've found our new PR/Marketing team member, Lee 'MiB' Exley from England.  Making him the 4th member of the BritCoin team, a big welcome to him! Smiley

Work on our BritCoin promo video has began, this will outline the benefits of using Brit in simple terms and hopefully will be helpful for new buyers and users.

The BritCoin marketplace is beginning to take shape, which will allow users to buy/sell/trade anything in BritCoins with Escrow support.

Our 'buy Brit with Fiat' platform is currently being tested, due to unforeseen delays it should be ready for live use early next week.

We're also in talks with Moolah and Bittylicious about partnering, with some luck I will be able to update everyone on the outcomes soon. Smiley

GOOD news..I stand on the Right side with BRITCOIN +1

Looks like we won't be partnering with Bittylicious, at least in the near future anyway.  This is due to the fact we're launching our own GBP > BritCoin platform next week which they don't want to compete with.  But I'm sure they'll come around once we've launched our platform and there's more of a demand.  So it's not terrible news. I've been thinking.  A lot people think of Britcoin as a country coin and that brings a lot of negative connotations.  I don't know how feasible it would be but perhaps a rebranding as something like for example "Digital Sterling" might work better, particularly as it would be easier to do whilst the coin is still quite small and doesn't have a huge footprint.  It would not take long to change and would be more internationally inclusive.

I understand where you're coming from with the negative connotations regarding country coins, sadly this has been caused by other coins so it's out of our hands.  But I believe we have to separate ourselves from the others by reiterating the fact that we had no airdrop or ridiculous premine like others.

Regarding a name change, I think we've currently got a great image/name/brand, and so do a lot of other people who have shown their support for BritCoin.  Although I do like the name 'Digital Sterling', I think if we changed the name we would be in the same position we're in now, but with a less catchy name. Please no name changes, and actually, the name of this coin is what caught my eye. I love British culture so I made a beeline as soon as I saw it.

Don't worry the name isn't changing Smiley  I think one of the best things about BritCoin is that Bitcoin hardly known at all by general population in the UK, and the oens who have heard of it have done so by negative media publications.  So we have a unique oppertunity to sneak in there before the concept of crypto currency really takes off and ensure we become the #1 go-to currency in the UK.  That's what we hope anyway. We're still working out a few bugs and cleaning up the design right now, so it's hard for me to give you an exact date/time..  The last thing we need is a bad launch. Smiley

I understand.  Any developments on the PR front?  I know it's early days but I haven't really seen anything from the new team member yet.

I'm assuming they have already reached out to prominent members of both the crypto/non-crypto communities on social media etc ?  The whole point of PR is to be visible:)

There really needs to be someone to do the social media side of things full time because that is the most important part of marketing these days.

Always good to hear! I'm holding on to a fair few. With regards to staking, is there anything more to it than simply leaving my Brits in my wallet and keeping the client running?

Well there still seems to be no social media activity, tweets etc.  I'm just curious as to what the new social media member of the team is actually doing?  Even if there is no news about Britcoin there should be regular tweets relating to British culture, technology news, cryptocurrency adoption and so on as this can help to bring people in from a wider social group than those who already know about cryptos.   It also helps to give the impression that Britcoin is still active.

Agreed. No tweets in 4 days. Should be tweeting everyday.
