There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Good but I think there are a few important things which I think were missed: 1) How about anonymity features? I don't favour this but many people do. Anonymity which can be turned on and off would be a perfect solution. You could even raise funds to get this done professionally by someone outside of the team if it isn't feasible for you to do it yourselves. 2) In addition to the Android Wallet, how about the ability to send Brit using text messaging? 3) Also a Youtube competition to get people to make a real video to promote Britcoin could potentially help and get Britcoin a lot of coverage. The other video is rather impersonal and looks like a fancy powerpoint presentation - very slick but not very human. 4) As ever there needs to be more work done on promotion too - there can never be enough! With this in mind I think continuing to look for more people to help is really important and should be part of the whitepaper too to make it official. 5) I would also think the idea to have a competition to find a King/Queen of Britcoin for promotional purposes could also work well and give a big boost to spreading the word. After waiting an extra week for this I have to admit I am slightly disappointed that you left out these ideas/features which have been discussed before with quite a positive reaction. I understand sometimes things can be overlooked in the rush to meet a deadline - Maybe you can still add them in?

We have been in discussion about anonymity features, it is something we are researching at this point so that is why it was not included in the whitepaper yet. We do recognize the benefits of having it especially for businesses that don't want "transparent" transactions. We are not stressing this feature yet tho.

You're right, there are a few things that were missed out which is completely my fault. I really could have done with an extra day or two to work on it but didn't want to push back the deadline, again. I also got caught up with writing 500+ word interview replies to two journalists, which was something I hadn't planned on. But as the whitepaper says, it is subject to change and I'm happy to update it. I think the current version is good, it still details a number of exciting plans etc. 1) This is something that can be added to the non immediate wallet developments list, including the option to turn on/off with off being the default. But it's not something that's going to be added in the near future, since we already have a lot on our dev plate. I like the idea of taking donations to pay for a bounty, but we already have an experienced coin developer working on BritCoin so I will discuss this with him before making a decision. 2) I like the idea of payments by SMS, but again it's something which we'll have to research and plan so it may not be released for quite some time. That is unless like above we manage to find someone who would be willing to do it for a bounty that is. I will add info in the whitepaper, once I've updated it. 3) We are planning on starting our YouTube competition at some point next week. Once our Facebook competition ends on Friday I will write a competition guide that will give users the rules and ideas etc. Also to be added to the whitepaper. 4) Taken onboard. 5) A BritCoin king and queen competition sounds like a great idea, which I would like to see at some point. But I think it would be better to wait a few months before starting the competition, as we're still a young coin and think we'll get a much better response once our community is a little larger. Thanks once again for your feedback and ideas, I really do appreciate it. Let me know if you notice anything else that was suggested that I missed.

DEV Why price is going down any issue?
There are no issues really, if anything things are looking good. The price will go up and down, that's just what happens. We saw a increase of 500% over a week period, so a dip soon afterwards was expected... But I'm sure it won't be too long before we go above 1,000 again.

Good I understand what you're saying it's just that in crypto it's kind of expected that if you are considering something you put it in the announcement too. I know it's different to everything else but if you don't put it in people assume you've rejected it or aren't even considering it:)

No problem. I think you are perhaps being a bit too conscientious in only putting in things that are 100% certain etc. People in crypto expect even far off things to be put into announcements otherwise they think they have been ruled out or rejected. The other thing I forgot to ask about was the whitepaper mentions Daily Mail coverage - any more info on this? Also any luck with the podcasts ? (Let's Talk Bitcoin & BitcoinUK)

(Let's Talk Bitcoin & BitcoinUK) I get where you're coming from, but BritCoin aims to pride itself on honesty and integrity which means we're not going to promise something before we have thoroughly discusses whether possible, or even more importantly beneficial. As with the DM article, I didn't want to announce this until I was 100% certain it was going to be published. By announcing something that may not happen it leaves the door wide open for people to FUD, which is something we've done well to avoid so far. EDIT: Forgot to update you on the podcasts, still waiting to hear back.

Great time to buy BRIT by bank transfer!!!
Have to agree, the price took a sizable dip last night but can almost guarantee it will rise again within the next day or two, getting back to 600+ sat should be fairly easy. Good time for new buyers to get in with some cheap Brits!

what's the next big thing on the development roadmap for britcoin?
Our whitepaper will be released in 6 hours from now. There are loads of exciting new features, developments and marketing plans that are detailed in the document. I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise. haha Am I mistaken, inferring from the charts, that it wasn't a big hit?
