Not sure what this post is about

It's about advising people not to bet on your site. The reasons were spelled out. I'd be happy to expand on them though if you are doing more than just being snarky.

Every operator knows that if something bad happens to your site / app, you quickly respond to the community to ease their fears. But you most certainly did not. That alone is a big reason not to play with you.

PS: it's impossible that all of the bugs I reported were cause by your server failure.

Be advised that our support is only reachable via the uservoice interfaces on our website. We also check in here from time to time.

We have given a few bug bounties as a gesture of good will in the past. We do not give any guarantees that you receive one.   Once again, your "matching problem" was indirectly caused by the server failure and we do not give a bounty for that.

Some of your points were already addressed in this thread. Maybe you find time to read the forum history and our FAQ.

Ya, I contacted you via uservoice and the support was still very bad. Slow and flaky are words that come to mind. And like I said, you should have been reaching out to us (customers) to assure us that everything would be ok. Instead we were sweating for 2 days.

And trust me, during those 2 days I read every forum post and was kicking myself for depositing with you in the first place. Plenty of people besides me have concluded that you haven't proven the solvency of your platform.

I was giving you a chance to keep me around with some comps, so I could see if you improve without risk to me. But I won't be depositing with you again and I recommend that others don't as well.

Worth noting that the guy above runs http://www.btcwagering.com/ according to his profile, which appears to be a rather poor and thinly veiled advertising platform for competing sites.

Plus all his "points" essentially boil down to:

1) The support is rather slow. Possibly, in the sense that perhaps the staff don't sit in a chatroom on the site spouting nonsense like on nitrogen or whatever, but in my experience it's not "weeks" slow.

2) It's not clear who the staff are and if/where they're licensed. Valid point, but valid for the majority of bitcoin-based platforms as I see it.

3) He didn't receive his precious 10mbtc bounty for pointing out that stuff is broken while the servers were down.

Thanks for the plug! Nothing is veiled about BTC Wagering -- we exist precisely for this reason; to recommend *reputable* BTC-based sites where people *won't have a problem getting their payouts.*

NB. None of the sites we advertise suck. My experience with Fairlay most certainly sucked to the extreme. Thinking you got scammed out of your money for 2 days is the worst feeling in the world, trust me. And when your withdrawal isn't being processed and the operator isn't responding, I generally think I've been scammed.

Nitrogen for example operates in Costa Rica where it's actually legal to run a sportsbook without a license. Is it legal in London?

NO!!!

And I was expecting more than 10mBTC based on the fact I was betting 2BTC and had such a bad experience. But it's fine and consistent with their "we don't give a crap" behavior that they said no.

I think others will find value in the info I've presented based on actually using the site (and obviously wanting it to be good).

As for you, thanks for the plug Smiley

Nitrogen claims to operate out of Costa Rica, great. Say that tomorrow the site disappears, together with all of the funds. What will you do? Give it a bad rating on your website? Catch the soonest flight out of your home in the US to Costa Rica?

I'm genuinely curious what you find so attractive about Nitrogen (apart from them paying you).

The objective fact is that Fairlay offer better lines (odds) than Nitrogen do.

To think that after two years and 30 pages of forum feedback the site operators would fake a server error to steal your 2BTC is hysterical and ridiculous. Why would the site operators need to bribe you? Are you also expecting reimbursement when you lose bets?

I would like to apologize for saying that there was a problem with my withdrawal. It was completely my error and I don't mean to detract form the brand what-so-ever I was withdrawing exactly how much it said I had and I believe that it does round up from the actual amount so if you end up withdrawing what it says you'll have insufficient funds.

I'll also add to the conversation that I think that Fairlay is a very good if not the best btc exchange. I have used the following sites, Nitrogensports, betcoin, vegascasino, fairlay, mbitcasino, and several others. Of more than 8 btc sites I have used fairlay 95% of the time offers the best odds. And if they don't they probably will in the next hour or so. If you've never used an exchange it may be a bit harder than the other sites to get accustomed to and occasionally the back bet has the wrong sign like 276 rather than -276, but THOSE ARE THE ONLY issues I have ever had with them. I will continue to use Fairlay as I believe that they have a great gig going on and they'll only get better.

Sorry again for the mix-up with withdrawal!

You seem to be suggesting that Nitrogen might not actually operate in Costa Rica (where it would actually be legal to operate a sportsbook).

So which is more likely then -- that Nitrogen *doesn't* operate in C.R. or that Fairlay doesn't operate in London?

Obviously the answer is that Fairlay is more likely to be lying about it. But it's tricky you see -- because in this case you don't necessarily want Fairlay to be telling the truth. Because what happens when the London cops come knocking on Fairlay's door? Will they already be on the first flight to Afghanistan? Will they hide all your BTC in brain keys and make sure you never get your payouts?

The point being -- it's bad business to pick an operator who claims to operate in a location where it's illegal to operate. You can't win for losing.

Now, obviously every site has risks -- even the fiat ones. But it's common sense that the more successful the site, the less likely they are to disappear with your money. And, in the case they do disappear, you'll have a lot of friends with pitchforks ready to hunt them down to the darkest corners of the earth. And even if you can't hunt them down, you'll have people to commiserate with and make you feel better.

You make some bad assumptions. Yes, sites can go under after 2 years of forum posts. We've seen it before. And the reason why they go down isn't necessarily my 2 BTC when they're offering upwards of 100 BTC on the exchange. Someone else could bring them down (again, including the cops) and I could be denied a payout.

As for better odds, no this also wasn't my experience. I thought it would work out like that which is why I deposited, but ended up having to accept worse odds than Nitrogen.

And how was it that you excused them for not reassuring players when they stopped processing withdrawals for 2 days? I do not excuse them at all. And I dread that feeling of not getting the payout so much that I will never play with them again, and I recommend you don't either.

Last but not least, I'm not at all obsessed with Nitrogen. I have plenty to critique about them. They're old-school in a lot of ways. But right now they're anchoring the BTC book space and I give them credit for that. I have zero fear of them disappearing with BTC -- can't say that about Fairlay.

The improvements of our search are now live.   We are also improving our UI  to be able to  serve mobile users better.  We already pushed some changes but still have a lot of work ahead.    Anyway, feedback is always welcomed:  https://fairlay.uservoice.com/forums/239705-general

And we also have new Ethereum markets, which can be found here:
https://www.fairlay.com/event/category-decimal/news/ethereum/all/

We also like to encourage you to create your own markets and receive 50% of all generated fees!

Just one example:

https://www.fairlay.com/predict/registered/new/bitcoin-to-top-1000-before-oct-2016/

this market was created by a user and already attracted 30 BTC in matched bets.

There is a new free faster service available to scrape our markets.  The service grabs all markets from Fairlay every 5 seconds and redistributes them via a very simple but powerful API.   So please use this service whenever possible to disburden our native Fairlay API.

Details can be found here:

http://piratepad.net/APVEoUmQPS

If you have futher needs or want to become a beta tester for the new API we are building, please contact us.

something seems to be going wrong with your results.  both of my winning baseball predictions today have come back with a negative result even though the bets should have won.

Hi everyone!

We are overhauling our market page right now and will release the changes shortly. If anything won't work as expected, please contact our support!

One important change is, that you will have the option to place all your bets as taker bets only.  This means that no open prediction will be put on the market when your bet is not fully matched.   This will also be the default bet type.  If you like to switch to the normal one, you can easily do this in the options menu of every market page.

Fairlay is very good. Great odds and fast transactions. Never a problem, or if one, it was responded to and fixed promptly.

I think that justbc guy had his own agenda and was just bashing.

got deposit credited. had to wait for it to be confirmed

but i did have 1 more question

i made a wager on a horse race.

the horse race just finished however when i check my pending bet it says the resolution time is 1 hr from now?

does it take this long to grade  horse racing wagers? it would be nice to get it graded right after the race runs

this website seems really good but they can be so much better!

if they graded horse racing say within 10-15 minutes of the race being official instead of 2 hrs after the race, they could get so much more business!

i mean you make bets - hoping to make more once they win and then you end up waiting 3 hrs for each horse racing wager to be graded

im sorry to say but this is deal breaker. I hope they can get this fixed.....as i woud give so much more business, as i love their idea.

by the way, is this sportsbook Bitcoin Protected? I seen bitcoin protected add fairlay to their website and that would be awesome!

i am starting to use this site more and more

i noticed a few things

ever time i place a horse racing wager now, all the bets are taking off the board right after and the race disappears? wtf? this has not happened once or twice but it seems impossible to make a horse racing wager now

another issue, i see a match is already resolved but i still have 2 bets pending. why did the other wagers get graded for this match but these two wagers are not?
Manchester United (n) vs. Boru...   77.18   34.24 / 2.920   Borussia Dortmund   N/A   July 22, 2016, 5:58 a.m.   Yes

anyways, i really hope they can fix this horse racing issue

it seems this company is not for the everyday horse gambler or they just dont want the horse racing business

but my question is why offer it if you guys dont want it?

the fact they take 3 hrs to grade a race and now you cannot even make a horse racing wager without the race coming off the board tells me so.

and let me not forget...today they have 1 track listed for horse racing...

where every other matching website has 5 or 6 tracks

if you guys need a horse racing guy to help you with the site-  I am available Smiley
