I agree here, I've also thought about it before and don't care for making some dubious hacked exchange account rich, especially while they contribute nothing and do not engage at all with the community. We'll have to see about what kind of a solution would make sense, maybe a vote perhaps. It's good to have this discussion.
One approach is to edit the UTXO to exclude the offending addy and reassign the balance to a community-owned multi-sig address for use thereafter as a community Treasury. Cheers Graham

Let me know what kind of DEX you are thinking about, if there are any examples in particular.
I thought DEX as BlockNet, or Komodo's AtomicDex. there is also that of the blockchain of Burst but I don't know how it is.

I don't see Komodo being used much and DEXs now seem to have mostly Ethereum token trades but not the main cryptos. https://np.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/i1fknt/ccs_results_monero_atomic_swaps_research/Still more theoretical discussion about how swaps should work, it doesn't seem to have been solved yet properly. I was thinking about interfacing with regular exchanges for now to get coins for withdrawal or to provide liquidity for certain pairs. Of course a better DEX solution would be more optimal though. Was thinking some more about this... basically the issue with Komodo is that both parties need to be ready to make a specific for it to occur. However, in practice, buys and sells need to be able to hang in the exchange platform for some days or weeks before a counterparty is found and the trade is executed. This can be done in a DEX manner if the blockchain has tokens and smart contracts, like Ethereum, but it still wouldn't be able to handle coins whose transaction rules are outside of its environment. The only way to send Dogecoin from any platform is by using the actual key for it. Hmm. Hey guys, good news, the update to the more recent Bitcoin code base has been done. You can see the recent changes on the new SMC repository here: https://github.com/psionin/smartcoin-1.1/commits/masterIt is using the Dogecoin code that is based on Bitcoin 0.14, which provides significant improvements in build framework organization, P2P functionality, and overall stability of the node. This also paves the way for SMC specific customizations and features that can bring some attention and usage demand to the coin. Setting up a SmartCoin node can be more easily done now on modern systems like Debian 10, which is what 1.1 has been tested on, as it doesn't require the older versions of Boost and OpenSSL. If you have already been running 0.9.1, this update is optional. It's probably best not to touch it for now, as there are more changes coming up. I built the Qt wallet and it looks decent, the peers are connecting much more smoothly than in the previous one. Not releasing it yet because I want to make a lite SPV wallet for a release so that casual users don't have to download the entire blockchain. Please note: mining right now is the same as it has been for years, it goes on and off every couple of weeks, and so transactions do not confirm within a reasonable amount of time. This issue is next on the list! Transactions should be fast, like in Nano, Dogecoin, or Ethereum. Then maybe some website based development and making a gateway for exchanging SMC to other currencies easily and without a large spread. So hopefully more is coming in the near future. Stay tuned and have your old wallets ready for import! psionin

I sent SMC from an old wallet to the new one, and it didn't register in the new wallet because no mining was happening (I didn't see the transaction at all in the new wallet). But then when mining started a few days after, it went through. So transactions do currently work, but may take a few days or weeks to process. The important thing is having a wallet that you control and the keys to it. Working on making them fast in the next to-do item on the list.

Using the 0.9.1 wallet? Yeah, it only has like one node address hardcoded. Shouldn't be an issue in the new wallet. Try these for now: 85.15.179.171:58585 178.63.9.83:58585 95.183.50.2:58585 Any addnodes?

If the refactored SMC is still a Bitcoinlike UTXO cryptocurrency with the OP_CheckLockTimeVerify opcode, it can be integrated into Blocknet dx no problem. I like gjhiggins' idea of moving the lost Cryptsy coins into a dev treasury. This kind of thing is no longer as taboo as it used to be, and I think any holders of SMC would support it if it meant a revival in potential and future value of their holdings. Let me know if I can assist with anything. Let me know when you're ready, I'd be happy to run a node remote from you to sync everything up again.

Which is like 300K at the time of Cryptsy, or what? Currently the plan is to refund some of the Cryptsy losses once the new version is ready. And use the rest in a development fund that can be voted on by holders. Man I used to own a ton of this coin on cryptsy. At least 3%. Vern!!!

Hi Psionin,
Please advise actual version of Smartcoin client under Win32/64. My client cannot sync or even connect to the nodes. I've deleted everything and seems like it stuck on block 0. I'm running out of ideas what's wrong.
To everyone here in this thread: are you having issues with your wallet sync?
Thx & cheers!

Nodes are running, but it's currently frozen because for some reason the mining stopped working after the last update. Rather than looking into that specific issue, I am rewriting a lot of things from scratch. Here's my latest workspace with a skeleton version of the client running: http://smartcoin.cc/images/screenshot_112307.pngETA? I'm not sure, hopefully this year. It's frozen for now on Yobit and I also hope that it would stay there without being discarded until the update. Sorry that it's not out in time for this alt season, but if everything works out well, it should still be worth a decent amount for those that bought a while ago. Hi Psionin,
