44,000,000 SLK will be the initial money supply. Each year, because of the static PoS block reward of 2 SLK, only 986,175 SLK will be minted. The total money supply of Silk is hardcoded to 2 billion SLK and the network should reach that supply in  about 1984 years.

My bold.  That is presuming that every current SILK holder goes through the swap, correct?  If not everyone SILK wallet participates, then the number could be less if I am not mistaken, n'est-ce pas?

So it should be 44,000,000 less than or equal to will be the initial money supply.

Might be an irrelevant point but wonderings occur.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Murky waters... But in order to accommodate for every user these coins do need to exist. The swap period is indefinite this means that all coins need to stay in reserve, even if they have not yet been claimed.

I think the swap period should not be indefinite. Who is going to maintain the "old Silkcoin" network anyway?

The initial supply of Silk will be 44,000,000 SLK; no more and no less. The swap will be indefinite and ongoing, so there will be no end date for the swap and there will be no post-swap burn of any Silk. Spencer has confirmed this.

I think the swap period should not be indefinite. Who is going to maintain the "old Silkcoin" network anyway?

The old Silkcoin maintains itself, it is PoS.

Only address balances from the second of launching Silk will be eligible for the swap.

The swap is indefinite, not everyone is on Bitcointalk and we do not want anyone who could be holding Silkcoin to potentially miss out on the swap.

Cryptsy is insolvent.... move all your funds from that site!!

Ok insolvent big word but I would not trust 1 single coin at this moment on cryptsy!

The limit is probably preventing bankrun. So better withdrawal 10K a day till adres is empty!

Yeah.  Cryptsy is the problem, not SILK. There is an interesting theory on reddit that suggests that Vern lost a lot of BTC and is trying to get it back by creating arb situations with alts (that's why the prices are a bit different/higher over there).

Pretty much, I would avoid trading there unless you want difficulty withdrawing.  Limiting withdrawals allows them to retain the illusion of liquidity while they try to make it back.

Matthew has been sorting the SSL certification, email server and all sorts of other bits.

Amir is coding away on the stormnode budgeting and payments.

Me and Greg are currently setting up some nice new backup mediums for the dev team.

I will withdraw gradually SILK with Cryptsy. So far it is possible.

Move all your funds from Cryptsy as soon as you can. I was lucky to have done it long ago.

Talking about SILK looking forward to the upcoming launch!

restart the wallet if it freezes.  you can aslo use the bootstrap.   can also use a restart script for if it drops out while syncing.
