Yup, perfectly OK.  There is a beta wallet to test, just back-up your wallet first.  Although the 1.1 release is very close as well if you want to wait a few days.

Yeh got some old links in the ANN.  Changed those links.   Silkcoin.io is at the very top of the page in large letters for now for quick reference.

The Silkcoin community is in the last stages of the takeover and rebuilding phase. Countless hours have been spent laying the new foundation of the coin and an official ANN SILK thread will come soon. We have to make sure that all details have been addressed before we make our first impression.

The new Silkcoin feature that I'm looking forward to the most is the community voting platform. From what I've read, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, is that owners of silk will be able to vote on the direction and priority of ecosystem happenings. The more silk you own (or vote?) the more influence you have and the more you can control your environment. This, I believe, will create community activity and a sense of ownership, worth, and passion for the ecosystem. The voting platform (the SilkTemplum ?) will force people to stake their silk in order to vote and be heard. This will move silk off the exchanges and into the wallets to further proof-of-stake.

Just downloaded the new Windows wallet. So far, so GREAT! Only two eensy little things that I noticed:

1. there is no sync progress icon / bar to let me know where I am in the syncing process

2. there is a itty bitty GUI glitch in the upper right hand corner of the wallet. See the screenshot below:
