There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I guess we can say BFL is legit, when all people that ordered have gotten their gear. Smiley Anyway, I'd be willing to put in a ticket if this is for real. Cheesy

I promise to give it a good home.  I also will provide a web cam feed of it, so that you can always check up on it.

(And, perhaps more worthwhile, I promise to donate its hashes and/or revenue to a appropriate bitcoin charity.)

Sure, I'm up for it. And I will not only pay the 0.5btc, I will throw in shipping from wherever you and Waldo are right now, and I will write a glowing post about what an all-round nice fellow you are, and how your generosity is the spirit that makes this silly bitcoin place just such a wonderful hang-out.

Or I will not post anything inflammatory for 72 hours.

Your choice!

I am not sure this exactly qualifies as "giving it away for 0.5BTC". This is more of a simple raffle, just with something people want.
