Use me as your referral, draco49@tormail.net, and if I win I'll pay everyone who used my referral their 0.50BTC back.

How are you going to verify that?

1) If I don't win, I won't have to.
2) If I do win, just PM me your BTC addr and the email you used to enter with and i'll confirm it with our nice raffle host.

I never win anything, but it is worth a shot.

FYI: I picked the first person to post as email for referral (at least the first I saw).
Referrer's e-mail address: yrral86@gmail.com

refer me if you like hartmining@gmail.com

So, when you submit say 20 credits for the raffle without referral, you are voting 20 times for yourself (to win).

When you do it with referral, you are voting 21 times for yourself and 5 times for someone else (and reduce your chances to win relative to the other person) .

So why are you doing that?

I'm curious Matthew,
I thought you are located in Seoul, South Korea.
Why is the raffle page on bit-pay.com saying Baekdu Mountain, Pyeongyang Korea North?

 Shocked

Because North Korea has such an open connection to the Interwebz... duhh... it's the central source for all free enterprising e-currencies.

And Baekkdu...   Obviously the perfect location between N. Korean and China to conduct Bitcoin Business.

White Head... Matt are you a white guy living in Korea?

I was born in Seoul. lol.

I was born in Seoul. lol.

Hah!

Yea, I've been in Korea 7 years now. Started out my first year working at some schools and then got so sick of the backwards education system here that I decided to start my own small international school. We had about 200 students go through our school but after three years of fighting the Korean system, we learned that our entire curricular concepts (although standard in America) are still 10 years too early in Korea.

Ironically, since closing, I've already seen copycat schools opening up and universities are starting to do what we were doing too.

It has been a wild ride though. Here's some random colorful photos of me and some of my students when I owned the school (유치부부터 대학부있었지만, 초등학생들 재일많았어요.). There are thousands so I just picked the ones that seemed the most interesting. (last pic is from one of the airlines I partnered with for English testing)

I guess I shouldn't point out that doing a mod of the number favours some first % of the shares by getting 1 extra chance at winning Smiley

Meanwhile - wow Matthew is gonna make a fortune out of this ... anyone offering to pay postage is foolish Tongue
(At the $4.90 gox value at the moment he only needs 123BTC to cover the $600 it probably cost him)

Quote it for truth then. Nothing will change. I'm not Atlas.

If you make your money back are you gonna raffle another one?

Entered!

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!

I hope to recoup the price only. I support BFL.

I would never make anyone pay for postage. That's totally boring. This thing is supposed to be fun.

(At the $4.90 gox value at the moment he only needs 123BTC to cover the $600 it probably cost him)
Mine cost me $650 (shipping to Korea isn't cheap) because I got in late I guess. I heard some others got one for $500 and less. I don't know if that's true.

Definitely! Next time though, Mihai has instructed me to do it through the Bitcoin Magazine as a giveaway of sorts for involvement etc. We'll see what we come up with. I have my own crazy ideas, but everyone around me has their own too, and I don't always talk to them before I jump the forums and do crazy shit.

Hmm I guess I should also Smiley
Would be useful to have a BFL with my 2xIcarus to help resolve any problems with mining all 3 (Icarus + GPU + BFL) in cgminer Smiley

Yep, enter early! It's like a 1-in-58,640,620 advantage for the first entrant vs the last entrant with 10,000 entries! (i.e., not significant; you reduce your odds of winning 10,000 times more than this by simply using someone else's referral when entering this contest; you increase your odds 10,000 times more by waiting, by having more information to determine optimal number of tickets to buy).

There is profit potential for either entrants or Matthew, I don't think a profit is guaranteed (unless this is a free evaluation unit that must be given away, etc); most raffles/auctions/lotteries that have been tried around here have few participants. This is one of the more significant; we know the organizer actually has the fabulous prize, the prize is rare, and the organizer has some reputation. It goes down in a week - if MNW flakes, we'll get 건달 on him...

I used a noun, not an adjective, as in Marcellus Wallace, not medieval, and removed the article to sound more hangulgooey. I only know bedroom Korean though.

B/c if you use Mwesoloski@gmail.com he will pay you 1 BTC for each referral you give him if he wins!

The person I used <draco49@tormail.net> will pay .5 BTC if he wins.

It's a hedge based on how honest you think the person is.

Smiley I gave credit where credit was due!  I was on my phone on the bus, but now I've edited it to include your e-mail address.

and I explained it's also based on how much you trust the person, b/c if peeps don't know us, then they may not realize how radically awesome and honest we are.
