Hey dev, the counters on http://get.captcoin.com/ and http://captcoin.com are different.

Launch is at 5pm UTC. So in 5h and 28m.

If you see a different time, it could be a time zone problem. Sorry about that. I'll look into that now.

the launch time is 5 hours left but the get your coin counter is done to zero hours nothing like a captcha, what the hell is happening

As I said, there was a time zone problem. The timer on get.captcoin.com was time-zone depending by mistake.

It's fixed now, sorry about that.

okay, thanks

You say that it will be as fair as possible by not allowing people to claim several times but in order to get a referral link you have to complete the captchas 50 times?

One of the objectives is to prevent people from claiming several times unless they spend more time.
So, anybody can claim several times, and the more time people invest in the process, the more coins they will get.

One person has to complete the form 50 times to get a referral link. And afterwards, he can keep completing it to claim more coins.

Any comment from the DEV on the Trojan.Malware.KillAV.Gen.001 that shows up in VirusTotal for the wallet?  I know some wallets put up false positives, but whenever I see Trojan is makes me a little scared!!!

It's a false positive. I'm looking how to remove the warning, but I guarantee 100% it's a false positive.

I'm almost certain it's because the wallet has a built-in feature to PoW mine (via setgenerate true), besides the PoS stacking.

PoW blocks are now rejected, but I used setgenerate to mine the first block via PoW.

The false positive is related to mining. If it were real, the wallet would use 100% of the CPU, and you can verify that's not the case
(unless of course you use setgenerate true, don't do that).

Jesor's epic guide on "DONT FALL FOR THIS"

You will make 5$ solving 10.300 (ten thousand three hundred) captcha's
1. You will have to solve about 103.000.000 captcha's to collect the total market cap over 50 days:  20.000.000 / (1+0.5+0.25/3) * 3 = +- 103.000.000
2. Market cap will probably at most be $50.000 since this coin has no long term strategy.
3. 50.000 / 103.000.000 = $0.00048543689 Per solved captcha.
In other words, You will have to solve 10.300 captcha's to earn 5$.

PS: Oh yeah, and the DEV will make 5 number figures over your backs (and probably abandon it afterwards)

Note: Even if all rewards are taken at the first 10 days (yeah right) for 1 coin reward, it would still take you 6000 captcha's for 5$
5 / (50.000 / (20.000.000 * 3)) = 6000

Here are some facts:
  • People will make an effort to get CAPTcoins, unlike other coins where coins are given away (and still market cap is over $50k),
so they will appreciate them and won't dump them for cents.
  • Because of referrals, CAPTcoin will be heavily promoted by its own holders.
  • Because it uses a new way to distribute, it will likely be promoted by the media.
  • Because of its unique way to distribute, there will be a lot of stakeholders, much more than on other coins.
All of them will want the value of every CAPTcoin to go up, and a percentage of them will work to see that happen.
  • Because of the sale of Ads, there will be a bounty fund while still distributing 100% of coins.
So, happy stakeholders, fair distribution, and active development. Not many coins can achieve that.
  • Because of the same sale of Ads, there will be an initial push of the market
(because CAPTcoin will be purchased with the obtained BTC).
  • Reward will half twice, and then distribution will be over for ever. That will create a deflation.

Considering this, I really think the total market cap will be way way above $50.000.

But of course, nobody can know this for sure.

I hope I'll be able to make "5 number figures". That'd mean all early adopters would make 4- or 5-figure earnings.

Finally, please don't use bold, text size and colors.
If somebody is right, people will reply to their comments and everybody will read it, this is not a self-moderated thread. No need to "scream".

Let's say this works out for you, you earned your money through this captcha slavery from the providers of these captcha systems, what then? Ad selling is over, Referral spam is over, distribution is over, when it gets pushed on a market it will vanish as quickly.

This coin serves no purpose except making you rich from +-103M captcha solvings. I'm only here to warn people not to invest time solving captchas for you to make 1 penny an hour.

I see you're wrongly assuming the origin of my income.

Captcha providers are: reCaptcha, VisualCaptcha and a captcha system created by myself for this project (I have experience in that area).
Of course, none of them generates me any income. They were chosen based on security and difficulty to hack.

The fact people solve captchas doesn't generate any incomes for me. I could say it generates costs, because I needed to upgrade to a quite expensive server to handle the expected load.

My sources of income will be:
  • Donations in CAPTcoin: People can donate here. There will also be an option to donate a small percentage while claiming the CAPTcoins in the captcha form.
  • Added traffic to my sites: After the official sale of Ads (and distribution) is completed, I may add Ads of my own if CAPTcoin.com and forum.CAPTcoin.com have enough traffic.
  • I will create several CAPTcoin services (automated escrow, dice games) and there will be a small fee. I will earn from those services if they get popular (I expect they will).

I simply don't believe you, and you know why? Because anyone would debunk my original post directly with telling me about the captcha providers you use.
You came way too late for that argument now. We'll just have to see to believe it, and trust me, I'll be doing some captcha's and analyse the traffic myself Smiley

And about the server, don't cry so much, there are hosts that cost 100$ a year for the kind of server you need. You should know that if that was your area.

I don't understand why the captcha providers were relevant to respond your first post.
I didn't know you were assuming I was getting income from the captchas.

Anyway, in less than 2 and a half hours you'll see the used captcha providers.

I hope you're right and I'll be able to downgrade the server.
For the moment I have a much more expensive one, better safe than sorry.

The Total Distribution is 20,000,000 CAPTs Why 1 capt reward per captcha? Huh
20,000,000 is alot and it won't finish within the 50days distribution. I read Jesor's post and I think his point is well analyzed.
And why someone will want to buy thses Captcoins on an Exchange? Do you have any Market Strategies?
Also Know that people will get tired and loose interest in the Coin for entering Captchas just to earn minus reward.
But still good luck! I will try it and see where it will go.

The Total Distribution is 20,000,000 CAPTs Why 1 capt reward per captcha? Huh
20,000,000 is alot and it won't finish within the 50days distribution.

If a person claims coins for several hours per day during most of the distribution period,
he could get way more than 1k CAPT.

If several thousands of people claim CAPTcoins during 50 days, it's entirely possible to reach the 20M distribution.

If not all coins are distributed, anything remaining will be burned, so effectively the available
supply would be lowered, increasing the value of each coin.

The problem here is that it's impossible to foresee how many people will participate in the distribution
and therefore estimate the total number of coins to be distributed.

It's better if the distribution lasts the whole 50 days, so more people can be involved.

I read Jesor's post and I think his point is well analyzed.

What point exactly do you mean?

And why someone will want to buy thses Captcoins on an Exchange? Do you have any Market Strategies?

Initial marketing strategies are referral links and hopefully media coverage.
Later, some of the coins in the bounty fund will be used for small giveaways and further marketing.

Coins will reevaluate when the reward halves, and then again when the distribution ends.

That increase in value may start a huge rise in price. (I guess you know how crypto-coins and speculation work).

Also Know that people will get tired and loose interest in the Coin for entering Captchas just to earn minus reward.

If the price of CAPTcoin doesn't rise soon, yes some people may get tired.
Those who don't will get more coins (proportionally).

So when the price does rise, people in the later group will be more rewarded

But still good luck! I will try it and see where it will go.

Thanks.

The auction for the Ads shown in the captcha form has been published:

https://bitcointalk.org/?topic=709901

100% of the received BTC will be used to buy CAPTcoins, and sent to the bounty fund for future developments and rewards.

Original Ads-selling idea was published here:
