Got the wallet compiled inside an Android tablet today and guess what? It is working. Been chasing after this for about a week. Now waiting for a block to stake. Will confirm when its staking 100%.
Thank you for your excellent work! I use the explorebtcd.info all the time. Sent you a little donation

James

Thanks James for your donation. I am now successfully staking BTCD inside my Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 with mobile hotspot. Fully stable since I restarted it more than 5 hours ago. And my BTCD's are 100% portable and always with me Cheesy

Bravo SHossain, bravo! Compiling the btcd wallet and successfully staking coins on an Android tab is pretty damn cool imo! Nicely done dude! Not to mention all the work you've done on the block explorer. Thanks for your hard work and dedication! Wink

The China Effect

Money from China has been pouring into most alts over the last few weeks, and many coins have seen strong double or even triple digit rises. BTCD’s own recent growth cannot be attributed to the Chinese exchanges, though it’s fair to assume there’s some contagious enthusiasm that spreads across the alt scene. BTCD isn’t listed on BTC38 or Jubi – yet.

China’s now-overheated stock market has experienced a long period of intense growth, and the Chinese government have been threatening to clamp down on leveraged trading to prevent further inflating the bubble. It’s a fair assumption that if traders think they’ll be denied the chance to use leverage at home, they will move money to somewhere it is allowed – especially given that for many Chinese, trading stocks is essentially another form of gambling. A number of high profile public offerings have also sucked further liquidity from the stock markets, pushing prices down and causing many traders to take their money out and find somewhere that will provide the same excitement. Bitcoin has seen some interest, but the Chinese have done that before – and many got burned on the crash from $1,200 in 2013. The alts, with their relatively low volumes, are the perfect candidate. BTC38, which has extremely high volumes and leads on price, offers a large number of these, regardless of their tech. It’s a lottery which will be pumped and when.

Exactly what is going on and what will happen next is unclear. What is certain, as James notes, is that bots are being used to trade large quantities of coins, interleaving buys and sells to make the movement seem more natural as they move the price up. Whilst bots are used by regular traders and within exchanges (the exchanges’ worst-kept secret), in this case the activity seems coordinated and suspicious. It seems they are being used to ‘paint the tape’: to give the appearance that certain patterns of technical indicators are being met, with the intention of inducing more simple bots and technical traders to follow suit and pour more money into the coins. Whether that is part of an effort to push the price much higher, or simply to bring about a selling opportunity that will be followed by a cataclysmic crash, cannot be known at this point.

It’s obvious that the Chinese market represents a huge source of liquidity – an order of magnitude more than the western exchanges. We’re working to have BTCD added to more exchanges. In the meantime, hodl – and keep staking.

I've been staking for over a week, why didn't I see a dividend - I mean, a divided of 15. I did see small interest dividends, but not the 15 btcd you're mentioning here.

thanks!

I think 15 BTCD is the total amount paid. So stakers got 15 / 2767 or 0.00542103361 each.

Ahh, I wasn't sure, is that definitely the case? Can anyone confirm? I guess every bit helps but that's a tiny fraction of what I get from interest.

Yep, the last dividend I got was like .0069... I don't have a lot of BTCD. So, it must be prorated in some way, it for sure wasn't 15 BTCD per person.
