The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Justmoon, well done! I will be happy for next, mode in-depth video, so I hope that you'll give at least part of the bounty to cover video costs and save a bit for next one Smiley. I also like the marketing budget idea. I sent 50 BTC right now directly to your account.

Awesome promo. I've already shared in on Facebook, and on 4 other forums that I know have people who will be very interested.

This is for the mybitcoin account. Feel free to donate even more bitcoin into it.

Also, do not donate to the address listed at the beginning of the thread as a precaution. The address I listed in this post definitely belong to the mybitcoin escrow account.

Wouldn't it be smart to make a new thread about this specific video and website?

Finally, the video:
http://www.weusecoins.com/ or
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Um63OQz3bjo

The video is released under a Creative Commons 3.0 Attribution license. If you would like to provide an HTTP mirror or seed the video on Bittorrent please contact me for the original H.264 1080p file.

This is excellent video, however much too fast.
Especially for people who don't speak fluent english. Actually i think that it will even be difficult to make subtitles that can keep up to the speed.

If you can slow the speed of events a little, it would be absolutely awesome.

What about a 30% slowdown ?

I'm sending X BTC now.
If you can slow it down, i will send more.

I disagree. I think the speed is perfect for such a basic promo which should only serve as an inspiration for people to read more about it and research more on their own.

PS.  Am I the only one who thinks that this video could replace Gavin's speech video on bitcoin.org?

Of course not. Probably even Gavin himself thought of that video as a placeholder until a newbie friendly animated video was made.

I am a fluent english speaker, and i had to watch it like 3 times to catch everything, even though i am a programmer and I understand the concept of bitcoin.

So believe me, when I am saying that it is much too fast.

And if it is too fast for me, imagine how fast will it be for "slower" people.

second this, also why don't you link the main bitcoin site at the end instead of promoting your own thing which is relatively unknown?

ShadowOfHarbringer you are missing the point of my post entirely. The promo is not suppose to answer all the question and have the viewer grasp all the concepts. It's suppose to present BitCoins in a concise manner and lure them in to research more on their own. And for that purpose it's perfect.

The first thing a viewer notices when watching this video is "damn, this is fast". And that is the point. It's taking the focus away from Bitcoin itself and moving it to the velocity of the video.
When i first watched it, that was my first impression. So do you want the watchers to think about how fast the video is, or about Bitcoin ?

First impression is everything in such situations. And this is a bad first impression, because it's too fast to catch what is said in it. Especially for non-geeks.

Also, another MAJOR disadvantage: Impossible to make a readable subtitles for it.
Almost nobody reads that damn fast (while simultaneously being able to actually watch the video).

I meant people in other countries (not speaking english).
If you make subs in another language, they will be unreadable.

It is indeed a bit fast but imo it's ok for a quick introduction video.  It also gives energy and rythm to the thing.  If it were slower, it could be boring.

People who want to have a deeper understanding of bitcoin will just have to visit the given link.
