I will try to setup an environment to build the Mac wallet. I tried yesterday with Lion, sadly I ran into some kernel problems.
Also i will build it the same way as I built the Linux Wallet (Current sources and modify the minimal protocol version to 70101 in version.h).

However it would be nice to know by 100%, if the current Mac wallet in the OP is not up-2-date.

if we get some other blocks i will try to transfer some of my coins from bittrex to my wallet.

in case bittrex is not up 2 date: would the guy who is staking send me some coins? just enough to stake myself? or anyone else (not from bittrex, that i can do myself)?

I would pay them back with interest as soon as my own coins arrive!

if my time conversion is correct, the last mac build was posted earlier than latest github commit.

Ok wallet is synced up to 10326. tried to transfer a small amount of coins from bittrex to wallet. No confirms. Wallet no longer says out of sync.

Probably one client staking so far - so very slow. Might take a while.

How many confirms does TRI need? Tired and too lazy to look myself.

And as I write this, I have an incoming transaction from bittrex.

Edit: Oh....only 4 confirms needed..... lets hope for another 4 blocks then.

can't say for sure from that info, because changes were made in repository without changing version or protocol version. but i am 99.9% sure that this mac wallet is not built from current sources - otherwise we wouldnt have the problem we currently have. if "you mac guys" get a up-2-date wallet (and therefore could stake) all should be fine.

thats why im repeating "we need a mac wallet" like a broken record.


edit: i currently 6 connections, 4 of them with 10325 blocks.

@ 78xx blocks guy: if it doesnt sync further, close wallet, delete blockchain files and try again.
@ 10003 blocks guy: you need to start an older wallet release temporarily to sync further. see a few posts earlier.

@3angle: would u add these to the OP? in case they arent "shit versions"? they shouldnt be, they are builds of your latest "non-shit" sourcecode.

edit: 10 connections. i see a fckn green bar. haven't seen that in a while in the TRI wallet.  

edit 2: if the wallet doesnt sync up to 10326 blocks: restart it whenever blockchain sync gets stuck (for me @ block 9000, 9500, 10000) - the "initialblockchaindownloadfix" doesnt work. after a bunch of restarts you should have the complete blockchain.

One thing that bothers me: sent some TRI from bittrex to my wallet @ block 10326ö. wallet still says 0/4 confirmations. why that?

edit: oh, probably due to priority, right? so i have to wait...

I won't go anywhere. It took me all morning of start stop starting to get it to synch.

I sent 100 from trex 30 mins ago and still 0 confirms. Also those 8/1 PoS blocks I hit are not progressing yet either. I have a bunch still on trex but I'm going to leave them until we know it's moving.

edit: How to force the wallet to sync:



if your wallet doesnt sync to block 103xx, do the following:

• go to the debug console: help->debug window, tab console
• enter 'getpeerinfo' and press enter, pick a peer with startingheight >= 10325 and a tor address -  not a localhost (127.0.0.1) adress! copy his address to clipboard. pick a peer
• quit the wallet. start the wallet it via commandline: 'triangles-qt.exe -connect=<addr>' , replace addr with the tor address in your clipboard
• wait until it connects and wait another ~2-3 mins. if nothing happens, repeat with another peer.
• repeat until synced >=block10325. wait until fully synced.

i repeated a full sync attempt a few times and usually got stuck @ blocks ~9000, ~9500 and ~10000.


reason is a  bug in the wallet sourcecode (implemented fix a few commits ago doesnt work somehow).

I was able to gather a few TRI's on the low during the uncertainty... so once the blocks are flowing I have 100 each for Dev and the wallet makers. That may not seem like many to the casual bystander but there are only 49492.36794500 TRI in existence.

Actually this is the reason I am out, there is nobody updating sources. I am working as a programmer since many years. I do programm in different languages and every prog will agree, that there is nothing more terrible than to change/update/edit someone's code, I reject almost every offer of editing a code, if I do it, I write a new one. Even if the author is genius, for some other dev there are no inline comments, documentation ... , which makes the source useless until it's documented or rewritten. I do not want to talk to much about how hard/bad it is to edit cryptographic undocumented sources. For most of these programms it's better to start over again and create readable and updatedable code which is fully documented. Normally this can only happen if the dev is very experienced or progs work in a team following best practices.

As long as the source code is not updated, there will be always a problem and nobody will trust it's money into this code. It's not enough to compile the wallet for different OS's if the source code is not beeing updated. As far as I can read, there is no real prog supporting this coin, at least not a prog who would like to edit the source code. I thought about overtaking, but what for? So many shitydevs around, even if there code is work of a genius, the way how they use this talent is just dumb and they should burn together with their shitty coins. And yes with this I mean you too 3angle!

actually he has some inline comments in his code. and its clean enough (for my low standards - i'm far worse) to understand imo.
