If they tweet something I'd be happy to RT it and post something to r/viacoin
jdebunt: While both the Bitcoin and Litecoin trading market trades are subject to a 0.2% fee per transaction, the Viacoin trading market trades will be subject to a 0.15% fee per transaction. All of these pieces of information can only bring even more attention to Viacoin and its community. We will be keeping a close eye on things and keep our readers informed accordingly. Thank You for your time, EmpoEX Team That's a really good move IMO. Encouraging people to trade VIA against other currencies for a smaller fee.

I have to delete the blockchain and redownload from scratch. I understand the procedure to delete all files except of wallet.dat Nevertheless when I open wallet.dat I receive following message: 'Adobe reader could not open 'wallet dat' because it is either not a supported file etc...' It is also not opening with Word or tekseditor. Same with my wallet backup. When I open it with an alternative, with Word, then all strange symbols appear. I therefore am afraid to lose my keys. What to do? Can anyone advise me? I have my wallet on a recent MacBook. Maybe just don't bother the wallet.dat, just keep it as it is and start redownload? Btw it happens to all my BTC/Alt wallets

Try setting it up to open with notepad, or any other "note" editor you use?

Try setting it up to open with notepad, or any other "note" editor you use? Thank you. It seems I can just leave wallet.dat unopened and redownload. I just tried with an empty alt-wallet and the public key is the same when redownloading. I am just a bit scared, because I have several k's of precious VIA in my wallet.

You don't "open" wallet.dat... especially if it is encrypted. If it is no encrypted it is no more than a text file. But, you should have no reason to open it.

But, you should have no reason to open it. well that was not helpful...at all... to OP you just need to delete all the files in that dir except for wallet.dat, then just start up the wallet software and it will sync up with the network and eventually show your balances for the priv keys contained in that wallet.dat

Just seen request created on cex.io to add via merged mining, anyone registered there may vote it up, it may add some 120Ghashes pointed to their ltc+doge pool. https://support.cex.io/hc/communities/public/questions/203983886-Scrypt-mergeLTC-DOGE-add-SYS-VIA[Edit] another possibly good news, coin-swap was bought by gaw, they said they will implement it into paybase, so if they keep all coins, via will be part of it.

Hey guys, I've added a merged mining pool LTC/VIA @ Suprnova too. You basically mine at one stratum and get hashrate at two pools as so payouts for two coins, it looks like in every Suprnova Pool and all your login credentials are working as usual. I'm currently downloading the TACO/PESA/SYS/DOGE Blockchains, will do some testing and then add them to the merged stratum as well (and report back). You'll find the merged Pools at:
https://via.suprnova.cc & https://ltc.suprnova.cc Please report any troubles you might find, the (stratum-)code is still in testing, thanks for the great help of btcdrak and reorder at #viacoin-dev ! :-) Would be cool the pools could be added to the list of pools too.

I have mined on alot of supernova coins, my concern here is that the hashrate is so low on the LTC that it may be a while to find a block...particularly since i have pointed 1.5 gh to it and it shows that 2,000,000,000 shares by the pool...which means i constitute 95% of the hashrate and will be rewarded almost nothing.... I understand the payout system but wonder if that many shares have been done, does the pool work....lmk...thanks

I am wondering where VIA/XCH, and other apps on top of VIA, could stand in the future in the multi-layered model of the cryptocurrency ecosystem (1-5 year) that Vitalik Buterin presents in his new blog. https://blog.ethereum.org/2014/12/31/silos/Layer 0 Consensus Layer 1 Economic Layer 2a Blockchain service Layer 2b Off Chain services Layer 3 Interop Layer 4 Browsers Layer 5 Dapps
