With the current plans is not a problem because mintpal v1 have all the data.  If some of the data becames needed in some moment, i guess we could open a new round of form for users that missed the first round. But as i said, i think that not will be necessary,

This cant be done without mintpal collaboration, because the balances belonging the users there are in their hands.

Anyway mintpal collaboration exists and if they dont solve the legal situation will give us the data necessary to do by ourselves. This is plan B,

This "before the end of this year" thing was a Tequila personal expression, but i am pending day by day, and working for make it possible as soon as possible. Mintpal owners are conscient that too much time has past, and also are willing to solve the thing shortly.

We are already discussing about this, that is the called plan B

 but still is not confirmed what data exactly are they able to send us with legal security
(wallets, balances, usernames...username and password)

If they send us only usernames but not passwords, we will need to setup a manual withdrawal managed by faircoin dev team,
with the data that we already have of our forms - like faircoin adress for every user- (updating with a second round of people missing)

If they send us also passwords, this process could be managed directly by the users...
(but we would need to think about what is better because set up a way like this could be too much work for less than a hundred of users that have faircoins on mintpal)

Anyway if their legal situation, not progress, this is the way that the withdrawal will be done, to be faster..

I personally don't see any advantages in this proposal:
Even with all this stuff going on, we're still adding value to FairCoin. The whole process we go through as a community tells us something about cooperation and growth - it tells us also something about what FairCoin stands for and what your involvement is. Personally I think that if you simply discard the blockchain (and/or make some new money like the big banks do just because it's convenient), you will discard growth and destroy value.

Imagine that would be the fix for the stolen BitCoins; "Hey guys, some jerk stole 4.000 BitCoins, but no prob and don't worry about your loss m8, we'll just mint some new coins for ya!!"... Why would anyone take any Cryptocoin seriously any longer?

From a philosophical perspective I see the blockchain as a storybook - what would there be left to tell if all the pages went to oblivion?
