In the end I actually just bit the bullet and hacked the source to hardcode that IP. It's syncing now. It seems that IP, despite trying to put it both in the config file and the command line, does not get tried... Hardcoded it in the source (src/net.cpp, ConnectNode) worked. I hope that once it's done, I can revert to the original source, we'll see. I think it should be OK, because the wallet is showing 16 connections now

Did you use a capital Q for the .conf? Must be Qibuck.conf also delete ALL the files in qibuck roaming folder except the .conf and .dat and re open the client.. see if that works, it should work then also..

Also I am beginning to blog and promote again and collaborate with other coins, so ALL BOUNTIES I EARN FROM PROMOS AND DONATIONS WILL GO TO BACK UP QBK COIN.. ..I am 100% devoted to QIBUCK and will do my best to help earn more REVENUE also through promotions.. Before I started QBK COIN I had earned over 30 btc by promoting and trading alts..I stopped that to focus on the QBK LAUNCH..now that I have delegated tasks to our very COMPETENT TEAM that have freed up some of my time..I can now help to generate more revenues through doing what I was doing before, only this time..I will put all my promo earnings in the QBK POT..Why would I want to do this? I must not follow instructions very well.  After seeing this I had to go check mine out.  Sure enough it's Qibuck.conf and not qibuck.conf    So some how I did it right the first time.  

   It's actually incorrect in a few place in the OP.  We should correct that ASAP.
