You need to run it as administrator
"6xGPU_mod does not support Windows UAC and should be run as Administrator."
That trick works. I have 7 GPUs on a motherboard, they are all recognised after the 6 GPU mod as administrator.

Does it work on 7 or 8 GPU? For example we would like 2X7990 + 4X390 or 3X7990+2X390.
Didn't work for 8x290. Worked for 4x7990 + 2xGTX970, tho ppl report 4x7990 working without the mod, but it was not the case on the rig I've seen. Did not work for 4x7990+1x290/7970/7990 - but system even would not boot(nor *nix nor Win). I cannot make it work on ASrock H61 Pro BTC with 6x390. Maybe it is just the MB.
I've used to run 6x290 and 6x280x on H81 Pro BTC motherboard. I remember following BIOS settings affected 6xGPU support on this board, but don't remember what settings I've used. IGPU Multi-Monitor -> Disable Primary Graphics Adapter -> don't remember Select a primary VGA. PCIE2 Link Speed -> don't remember; the lowest. Select the link speed for PCIE2. Launch Video OpROM Policy Select UEFI only to run those that support UEFI option ROM only. Select Legacy only to run those that support legacy option ROM only.

Yeah.. I was too lazy implementing all this UAC bs. Also you must either import registry file or tick "Modify registry" and reboot after.

PCIe link speed in general does not affect mining at all, cause most(all?) algos don't require PCIe bandwidth. However some motherboards are having issues allocating resources for multiple devices. And sometimes PCIe link speed set to 1/1.1 does help. Not for mining but for motherboard working properly with a lot of GPUs. And since this setting does not affect mining speed and it is difficult to say which motherbard will be having issues.. I always set it to 1.1 if possible. From the top of my head I remember z77 based motherboards and intel motherboards in general.

I have a gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 R5 and is running 2 graphic cards on the board in the pcies x16 The mobo has 4 pcies 16x and 2 pcies x1 ... When i try to add a usb x1 pcie riser the pc does not work ,,, Windows 8.1 recognize the usb X1 to X16 pcie riser but when you plug a gpu on the riser is not working ,,,, also i tried the trick with the cable A1, B17 ... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=36061.120 and it got stuck the bios and i had to remove the mobo battery for a while .. Also when I place the usb X1 riser in a motherboard X16 pcie slot again is not working ..... should i try risers with flat cable ? 16x to 16x and 1x to 16x ? If you have any suggestion let me know .... I got it same mobo with 5x r380 working like this: 1) doing that: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=461637.msg5111084#msg51110842) from reddit fount this: --- [–]sarosan 2 punktid 2 aastat ago Yes, this is crucial for Linux compatibility on GA-990FXA-UD3 latter revision boards: enable IOMMU in the BIOS, and also enable EHCI & XHCI "Hand-Off". I do not recommend using the open-source fglrx drivers, as their hashrate performance is subpar compared to the official AMD binary blobs (13.11/12.12). --- 3) run that mod to generate reg and manually applied it: https://lbr.id.lv/6xgpu_mod/ + reboot 4) still found one card with code 43 (not another card) 5) done that 6gpu mod again + reboot voila

Tho I'm running Win. But this board is weird. For example it won't boot at all with 6x290 without monitor attached if "Full Screen Logo Show" is not enabled ; )

Hey guys,
I'm running catalyst 14.4 with 6 cards. As soon as I add the 7. card I get a "device has been stopped" warning for a random card.
Is there any solution for that problem here?

Well.. it's a bit out of the scope of this thread. So you better ask here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=632503 for example. However, make sure that your PSU can handle all the cards and that each GPU can work on it's own. Or you can significantly lower GPU frequencies in MSI AfterBurner f.e. Try something 800/1250 for all the cards - this will make GPUs to use much less W. Also it can be driver related issue, for ETH afaik it is recomennded to use 15.12 driver. And make sure that all the GPUs are actually working and are properly detected by the system, f.e. switching trough all of them in GPU-Z and reading temp/freq/etc.

This mod is not working for me with the latest driver (16.8.2) and 7 RX 480's on Windows 7. Any ideas? I did run the application as an administrator. The app seems to work fine with 6 GPU's, though.

Probably already answered, but did not find the answer therefore asking: Mother Board Asrock B85 with 5 cards (one is 7990 so windsurfing 8.1 visible in the list 6), add another r9 280x and it is - the seventh - does not work with error 43. Tried everything - setup of MB, registry cleaner and modified (6xGPU_mod), an additional power supply, adding memory, riser changed, a different version of the driver set. Prompt, pls. how to solve the problem?
