Regarding the account fee, wouldn't it be possible to make it gradually decrease with the block height?
Well sure, but what would be the goal of that? I don't see why that would be useful.

Since the coin value supposedly will start low and increase with time.

^ I realize that it's a bit distasteful to presuppose that the value will increase. Probably bad omen as well.

That's an assumption, and an assumption which wont hold true, the price of a coin will never grow smoothly over time without ever falling. There is no equation you can use to determine the fee in a reliable manner, the only realistic method is to let miners and/or stakeholders vote on it.

To have balance encrypted to hide it from being watched in block chain explorer is really a bad thing. The problem is that there is no way to verify if the balance is correctly created

XCN Faucet is NOW Online!!

www.XCNFaucet.com

Nice and simple. I tested it and seems to work fine, limited at 1 use per hour.
I'd be cheeky to say that it's not paying much (0.0000001), but I know you'll just tell me to donate some  Grin

Actually, this website is for testing purposes, And I don't think it'll get some reasonable income to cover expenses.

And this is for free, No donation needed Cheesy

Everything was working fine, up until December.  I have not been able to sync up since and have tried starting fresh repeatedly.  Around November 29th I begin getting "Status: conflicted" on transactions and then it sticks on a block (I've left it for days with no luck getting past). I then tried several backup wallets just in case, but they yielded the same results. When I go to close the client (once it's stuck on a block) I receive error messages (I'll paste an image later).

I looked for the -salvagewallet command in the console but did not see it. Is there some command I can use to attempt to salvage my wallet (if that is the issue)?

make the wallet re-download the blockchain.

I've tried that at least 10 times with no luck. I've nuked everything except my wallet and started over and each time around block 188079 it freezes and will not go past. Transactions past 12/5 (conflicted transactions) show up, but the blocks are not sync'd. The error mentioned above appears to only happen with the original copy of my wallet and not on the backups (so far), but even the backups show the conflicted transactions from 11/29-12/5 and will not sync.

Solved it. Bad node(?).

When I couldn't sync for so long I searched this thread and popped the most posted node into the conf file and that was what started all of this "conflicted" stuff apparently. I removed that from .conf file and it sync'd finally.

Hi guys, need help here. My wallet seems to be stuck at block 190053 and won't proceed further. I've deleted my appdata dir and resync but it's always stuck at block 190053:

For anyone interested in the anonymity paper discussed on the last page, I recently discovered that the author has created a revised version of the paper and has posted a thread in the altcoin discussion forum where it is being discussed in more detail:

A hypothetical question: suppose the author's scheme is feasibly workable and doable. Would you accept to implement it in your xcn, that means a hard fork at some point?

Even with a hard fork I'm not sure it would be possible, the schemes are just too different. And like I said on the last page there are many good reasons to implement the idea as a separate altcoin, there are always disadvantages associated with anon coins and it's no different in this case. It's better to think of these two schemes as separate concepts which both use the mini-blockchain as the backbone. It's like the difference between Bitcoin and Monero. If you've ever used Monero you'll be very aware of its weak points, and you wouldn't argue for the implementation of the Monero ring signature stuff into Bitcoin. It's the same thing in this case, it would be illogical to try to merge this anonymity scheme into Cryptonite.
