That sounds shady as fuck, in my opinion. Whether it's true or not- I don't know. But it seems Awfully suspicious that one of your people just happened to let slip today in chat that a "new worker had been given access to the code."

If this is true- Name this developer.
If what you say is true then He (or she) is directly to blame for stealing from us. If that really happened then let's hear who it is, throw them to the wolves and we can question the legitimacy of this person ourself. And then of course you would be helping the community by letting us know who is a dirty scamming thief, and to prevent future projects involving this individual.

Also- where can I see a full list of all bets made from both roberto.bernier and esteban.davis, my 2 accounts?
I can only check the last 100 or so unless I'm missing something. There did seem to be a few abnormally long losing streaks late last night/early this morning. I stayed up all night gambling on DB. I can attest to the fact that it seemed to be nothing out of the ordinary yesterday, but there was a patch at some point early morning hours here that it seemed that the "All Bets" tab was red, including streaks of mine. I would just like to be able to check, I don't know for certain if it was right or wrong. Maybe mine weren't as affected because I'm not a whale.

-snarlpill

P.S. - If you are really honest, and had nothing to do with this, then just ride if out and don't go anywhere. Yes it will be a shitstorm for a long time, but if you right the wrongs then over time you can work on building up your dream again.

He's on now pulling money out of cold storage to refund to people who ask for it.

Personally I will keep betting and investing there. He fessed up to the employee stealing, basically, is refunding and helping check accounts to make sure skips didn't happen, etc. he didn't take the 7000 BTC and run, he is working to make it right with accounts that were effected.

Everyone, just because you lost doesn't mean you were robbed. It means you suck at gambling. Very few were actually effected.

You cant "suck at gambling" lol, its 100% luck with a 1% house edge. So you will lose eventually.

Depends on your bet percentage. If you lose X in a row odds will increase that your bet will come up and win soon (or vice versa). You can play small and then bet big when you think and then small again. At least that's how I tripled my original starting BTC. You have to use your brain. Don't double bets on every lose. Etc.

Youre mistaken. Gambling is gambling and you will lose in the long term, especially with a 1% house edge.

No matter your bet percentage you have a negative e.v. (expected value)

"You can play small and then bet big when you think and then small again" Exactly thats called luck, and half the time you will win but half the time you will also lose.

They still have 6k in the bank. Investors invested knowing loses could happen.

Alright, a few things. I got my 35.1 coins which I initially deposited on DB which I lost. I appreciate that a lot, although I feel like you shouldn't have re-funded the deposit, just the bets that the nonce's were skipped. Since I SHOULD have won roughly 55 + coins, and I am receiving 35.1. So technically I still got cheated. Though I am extremely grateful since I thought those coins were gone. Thank you.

if it was cheating and was so easy to point it out. does that make sense?

you make a site and it genrates millions of dollars in rev in 3 weeks. cheating would not be the smartest business move

Assuming they were interested in scamming they would be able to maintain the house edge profit while continuously robbing from investors (playing with the seeds). This could have gone on for a significant amount of time before being detected if ever. This would give them the guise of being a legitimate and profitable investment/website which would in effect draw mass investments over time.

I still don't understand why people insist on trusting random people on the internet with zero track record with millions.

I'm going to make the wild assumption that this would explain why DB's profit/investments has skyrocketed the past week. I can't see how the nonce skipping can be argued to be anything except for deliberate scamming especially given the positive profit result.  The "rogue employee" story holds no merit either and it wouldn't be the first time I've heard a website use this as an excuse.

I posted my thoughts on them pre-incident: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=716312.msg8474390#msg8474390

Ok, I found one skipped nonce as well from the 28th of august!

client seed: 752587814625695626520120
server seed: 30pf9Y4qiRnw7sH4PLfLcLiOilzN3oOHrLuz4xESPNSTCD6ZeeDBEC5cGr1fEzC7
nonce skipped: 412

Will make a support request at dicebitco.in and still checking but it is a pain to check 17,000 bets; especially since I changed seeds quite frequently and also did robot rolls.

if this is indeed the case, i call bullshit on this rogue employee story and that these guys just got caught red-handed and dont want the fury of thousands of users doxxing them and getting in more serious trouble.

But 1 thing doesn't add up to DiceBitcoin's story. Why wouldn't the new guy just implement a code to auto withdraw a little bit in the hot wallet every now and then (draining it completely over time).. Doesn't add up.

The new developer apparently had the ability to put whatever changes he wanted live.

The obvious thing to do would be to allow himself to see his server seed. Then he could win undetectably whenever he wanted.

The way the site was stealing from players in a very obvious way makes no sense that I can see other than as an act of sabotage.

If you give dicebitcoin the ultimate benefit of the doubt and assume that there was a "rogue employee" you still have to take into account that they let a random untrustworthy person access their code and thus jeopardize all users on the website. This is the best case scenario, when users trusted you on Just-Dice, they did so assuming you wouldn't do something like that. In my opinion this seems pretty damning. I don't see why a rogue employee would choose to steal in this manner either.

Also, why would someone in that position want to sabotage that website when their potential gain from having that sort of access is so great. He could literally just view the serverseeds and win millions while remaining undetected. The only reason for something like this to occur is to boost the profit of the website.
