TBH, this coin should have died a long time ago.

I foolishly re-downloaded the wallet a while ago, and started from scratch with it agin...BUT, 8 days later, i still have over 700,000 blocks to go....it's an absolute joke !
I'm running a modern Ryzen system, plenty of ram, fast ssd, fast internet, and ...well enuff said really.Shame cos i got quite into this coin at one stage, but with the syncing issues and diffciulty, it was only ever going one day.

Shame really, cos i'm a die hard scrypt / scrypt-N guy, but the numberous alternatives simply work better

RIP

Well people, more excellent news. UTC is being delisted from Altilly, currently you can only withdraw UTC from the exchange.

GO TEAM, GO!

Now the dump make sense.  Angry

Well seems everyone now has just useless and worthless coins. SAD.

The good news is if UTC isn't traded on any exchange we don't have to listen to you whine about the price.

Thanks for the history Bluesman75

All that I have said in the past still stands as correct.

The focus is maintained on the ENDGAME not the "end of the game".

Everyone here will still be the first to know when we are ready.

Cheers - usukan

Correct wallet here:
https://mega.nz/#F!nAVymCQa!wdJ4DMaULSptCqC5BX8fCw

Save downloading/syncing everything.........

NEW WALLET BOOTSTRAP 13 Sept 2018

.conf file

addnode=122.58.92.223:44100
addnode=84.248.164.59:44100

Instructions in full......http://cryptochainer.com/dir/?page_id=154

Summary:
-Remove everything from the folder (/Users/USER.YOU/AppData/Roaming/Ultracoin (Windows) or ~/Library/Application Support (OS X)), except wallet.dat (also create a backup)
-PUT bootstrap.dat to the data folder (all bootstraps are named bootstrap.dat, so be sure you’re using the correct one)
-Launch the wallet, and wait for it to import the blocks (will take some time)
-Do not attempt to access the wallet, or click the splash screen, as some wallets will crash
-To monitor the progress, look in the coins’ data folder, and watch the blk0001.dat (or similar) increase in size.  When it approaches the file size of the bootstrap.dat, you’ll know it’s almost complete

Quote
Old bootstrap: Only use if above won't work for you.  This one takes longer.
Ultracoin is one of the oldest altcoins out there - as such the blockchain is indeed quite large. YES it can take a week to sync from scratch.

There is a bootstrap here of the blockchain to allow a faster sync of newly installed wallets - just follow the CryptoChainer instructions on how to run.

Thanks, usukan.

@Bluesman75 Do you remember Pandacoin? It was also delisted from all exchanges, yet came back and I know people who sold their holdings for more than 100.000 euros.

If you are done here, enjoy somewhere else.

Not sure what happened, about a week and a half ago my UTC wallet started locking up on launch and I'm getting "Ultracoin Wallet- (Not Responding)" when I try to click on it or check the task manager... Tried deleting the blockchain and restarting from the last backup I had... which was in June ... and its still not launching....

Hi Jarod 1231

Try loading on another higher spec computer.

I get the same mssg ("Ultracoin Wallet- (Not Responding)") occasionally on one low spec machine I run - but it clears again after a few mins and runs all OK.

Try waiting it out.

Good luck.

Had to be some problem with the connection... I had all but given up on getting it to work again.... and then I boot up my PC today and the UTC client started and fully synced.... apparently part of the time I was connecting but not fully syncing because I now have a bunch of stakes that happened during the time period where my wallet was not responding

You can't, no one care anymore about a block explorer for this coin.

http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/index.php

There are coins supported on presstab, but ultracoin isn't active anymore. As for now Ultracoin is dead, you can't know if your wallet is forked, if the coin is under 51% attack, if your transactions are ok, the price, the percentage of stake, you can't know anything about this coin anymore.

Oh, sorry, there is something you can know, the low hash in the network.

But if you still believe, maybe somewhere in the future (perhaps Febraury 30th 2020), there will be a BRIGHT NEW ULTRACOIN.
