UPDATE

The Good, Bad and Ugly

Trading continues on Cryptopia at quite heavy volumes - in comparison with former Bittrex trading.
https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange/?market=UTC_BTC#
Daily averages are about 1.3m UTC or just over 2 BTC.  Of course the price at about 0.00000190 BTC could improve but considering the effects of both the massive BTC rise and the spike in the UTC/USD rate - its understandable.

Steven will be moving into more of a background role with UltraCoin.  Its clear that he is too busy give his best to UTC at present.  Hes not leaving - just we should not expect him to take the leadership role anymore.  He will continue to support UTC development through his knowledge of UltraCoin, expertise, resources and contacts where he can.

So - whos the leader?  To be perfectly honest we have a problem here.  I only stepped into a role here at UltraCoin to rescue the coin and get it set up again with an upgraded wallet, block explorer etc - as a solid base for future development and growth.  I finished that and passed the reigns back to Steven.  I don't have the time or expertise to continue taking the lead role in UltraCoin out into the future.  I own and manage several companies operating across Australasia in seafood.  That takes me 12 hrs a day/7 days a week - I don't have much spare time for hobbies - or even family.

Temporary solution - I will continue to manage UltraCoin in a "caretaker" capacity (with Stevens assistance).  We don't plan any major projects until we sort out a few issues:

Issues being:

1 - We need a volunteer Dev to step into the UltraCoin Management team and handle the projects that we have on the plan.  We need someone with more crypto-tech skills than both Steven and I have to handle this job.  You don't have to necessarily do the coding - but you need to understand the tasks to manage the work of contract devs that we may bring in to handle specific projects.  If you can code proficiently and you want to take on any of the projects - you're perfectly welcome.

2 - We have a pool problem.  Alenevaa has been MIA for well over a month now.  The pool continues to function - but miners are not getting paid out.  If we cannot find Alenevaa after about another week - we must seriously consider to start another "Official" UltraCoin pool.  To this end - we may soon call for volunteers to set up an "Official UltraCoin Pool".  If you are interested and have the skills/resources - please let me know.

Thats all for now - hope to hear from anyone who can assist with the above.

Cheers - usukan

OK - thanks guys.

I believe Alenevaa may be travelling in India and surrounds - last known position Rishikesh in India late Feb.  Its at the foothills of the Himalayas in northern India - so maybe hes climbing Mt Everest or some of the other mountains.  Internet is not great there.

I think he will be back.

Alenevva is back

I am pleased to report that Alenevaa is back - the pool has been serviced and pool payments sent out. Thanks Alenevaa.

It seems that Alenevaa was indeed travelling.  Had his computer and photographic gear stolen early into the trip - hence no contact for a while.

Most importantly he is alive and well and enriched from his travels.

I'm intending to send Alenevaa a gift (0.3 BTC - roughly the cost of his annual server fees for the UltraCoin pool - Euro 480). He obviously has not been working for a while and with the loss of his gear he will have a lot of expenses to catch up on now hes back.  This is the least I can do for him after his tireless efforts testing the new wallet, setting up the test pool and debugging the new wallet versions and operating the only UTC pool at his own expense.

If anyone wants to contribute towards this 0.3 BTC gift of appreciation - send your BTC to this address.  It will help me a lot as I hate spending my BTC at present.

Any contributions gratefully received to the UltraCoin Dev Fund BTC address:

WELCOME BACK ALENEVAA

Thanks usukan

I have sent Alenevaa his gift of appreciation for which he was very pleased to accept along with our support and welcome back wishes.

Thanks to the supportive community member who contributed very significantly towards this endeavour. And I see I have pledges from others too!

Any surplus will be held for future Dev projects.

Many thanks for your support

Cheers - usukan

Thanks Valpe - your contribution received.  We had enough already to pay Alenevva - so will retain for Dev work.

Your support very much appreciated.

Update

Ok - we need to get things moving again.

I am going to head off on 2 strategies - Community is welcome to offer better solutions and Dev assistance if tangible.  I'm not too interested in open-ended ideas that delay and confuse a timely and efficient resolution.

First - I intend to discuss with Alenevaa setting up another pool.  Even Alenevaa agrees that there must be another pool.  This new pool will be the "Official UltraCoin Pool".  I intend to PAY Alenevaa for setting up this pool and managing it - and it will need to be funded by the "Community".  Setting up the pool, server costs and ongoing maintenance.  There were a lot of subtleties involved when we tested and hard forked - and nobody understands these better than Alenevaa - most especially with respect to UTC mining.   The intention is to contract Alenevaa for all this work.  I have not discussed this with him yet.

2nd - I have discussed dev work casually with a few so far - but I am not really convinced of capabilities, trust and their network of sub contractors required for the different projects.  As such - I intend to go back to PressTab and discuss working through agreements for the dev work we desire utilising both himself and his trusted colleagues.  Trust in both capability and integrity are paramount - and in this respect PressTab has been through the hoops and passed the test most specifically with UltraCoin code.  The intention is to contract PressTab for this work (including work by subcontractors) and this will need to be funded by the "UTC Community"  I have not discussed this with him yet. PressTab - as with all other good devs - is a very busy man and we may have to stand in line for our work.  In my opinion this is better than heading off with unknown and potentially untrustworthy or less than capable devs.  To be completely clear - UltraCoin was almost broken in late 2015 by this.

So - feedback always welcome - but as always silence will be taken as agreement.

Make no mistake - progress will not occur without community support in terms of cold hard BTC.

I will report back as I have information to share and discuss.

Cheers - usukan

I like to keep things moving - so have started discussions with PressTab and Alenevaa.

I will update when we make any progress.

These are the projects that we have up for now (in approx order of priority):

Projects:

- Official UltraCoin mining pool (funded by community AND fees back to contract operator as incentive/bonus)

- Ultracoin Web Based Paper Wallet Application (Steven has the basis of this it just needs to be cleaned up and checked)

- Android Wallet (With Lite Wallet) - again there is some old code but not with lite wallet features

- One Click Miner (Wallet Integration) - we have some start on this but I think its best to start again fresh on this (Steven may update us on this).

- Desktop Windows Lite Wallet Feature (Download blocks only pertaining to wallet transactions) - nothing started here

- iOS lite wallet - nothing started here

- Wallet Streamlining (Resource Management) - not top priority but we need at some stage to get the whole wallet updated - big job yes.

I agree with you and please inform us when you have the cost estimate for step 1 and we will see how the community reacts.
I will continue to support financially hoping the rest of the community will follow and support financially as well.
Greetings to Alenevaa!

I have approached the exchange Liqui as well.

https://liqui.io/About

Will update any positive progress.

Cheers - usukan

Liqui say they won't list UltraCoin at present - they are only adding top trading coins during their startup phase.

Later maybe - but no quick fix here with Liqui.

also - Cryptopia wont list UTC - they quote that its a premine coin.  (but they list ETC and won't list ETH?)

Cheers - usukan

Thanks for reaching out to the exchanges! What about Bleutrade and Yobit?

these can not be fix and are changed at every turn so we can not be tell any exact for this and that.
