The v1 pool will be converted to v2 in a day or 2, but setting up the migration would have delayed this release, and only running that one on v2 could result in a dangerously high portion of network hashrate on one pool, so it's better to split it for now anyway.

This means that on the pool v1  we need to generate new plots after convert? Or we can continue to work?

P.S. Burstcoin to the moooooooooooooon  Wink

Yup, we need to re-generate plots. On pool v2 the id is the same as the one in the wallet used for solo mining...

You need new plots. You will use the same ID for solo and for v2 pool. But for the v1 pool you had a different ID generated.

for those of us that were solo mining and want to start v2 pool mining...do we need to re-plot, and then just use pocminer_pool to mine with?  Would it be ok to just follow the guide on v1 pool mining (on OP), or will these instructions not work for v2 pool mining?

EDIT: And I have 1.0.3 wallet already.

Thanks in advance for helpin us noobies out!

Well... that is going to make some current pool miners a little angry.

No, you won't have to do anything on v1. I'll do a reward assignment on all currently used v1 pool address to a new address, and set up special cases for dealing with those so they are paid out to the correct place. When I do the migration you'll have a little bit of downtime, then everything will keep working with how it was set up before.

I think you need to replot the entire hard drive with the address provided by the pool.

1. Download pocminer_pool
2. move your plots folder from pocminer_v1 to pocminer_pool
3. In the mine.bat file, edit the poolip to http://178.62.39.204:8121
4. Go to http://localhost:8125/rewardassignment.html
5. At the bottom fill in your passphrase, and put BURST-8NZ9-X6AX-72BK-2KFM2 as recipient and submit. This will have a fee of 1
6. After 4 confirms, your generate address will show up in http://178.62.39.204:8121/users
7. run mine.bat

For the people who are confused: V2 Pool allows you to mine with your solo plots. You do NOT have to regenerate plots if you have solo plots. v1 pool users can keep mining without doing anything. the v1 -> v2 migration for v1 pool users will be transparent to them, and not require them to do anything.

So how long until people realize you can just as effectively add more volumes to an Amazon EC2 instance than buying harddrives. Wink  This type of mining is ripe for abuse until storage providers adjust their pricing models. Kudos to all the guys who jumped in on this early.  More coins will certainly come. Hopefully with a more straight forward method to getting everything setup.
