How does one stake exactly? I couldn't find any clear instructions. Here's what I've done using m-wallet v1.4.3.0:

  • - Encrypted the wallet.
  • - Unlocked the wallet for staking
  • - Enabled mPoS minting
  • - Added "staking=1" in the magi.conf file

But no matter what, the status is always "Not staking." - What am I missing?

I believe it's "posii=1", and not "staking=1".
You must also have a synced wallet and mature coins.

I don't think Pools are able to maintain the Hash Rate Norm. What is so difficult about it? I can not understand. Probably, a noob programmer can program some "if--then--else" loop to eliminate such ">250kh/s" hash-rate miners.

Anoteher user account @deztroyr1 on POM pool (http://pom.m-hash.com) has been warned many times to lower hash rate on pool.
After some hours, and no reply from user, and according pool rules, I'm going to delete user workers.

PERFECT!

EDIT: He still probably has a few workers mining at 400+ khash/sec.

Alternatively, if the hash is exceeded, limit the maximum issuance and issue a warning. If the warning does not work, confiscate in favor of the pool. And the pool is nice and punished by a bad guy.

What a reason?   He change pool and you lose big client..     Also with lower hr you will have lower finded blocks and other users will receive lower revenue.

Up to what time will continue uncontrolled connection of users with a mega hash and higher. It seems that all the pools are allowed a maximum of 250 kh. Simple users with personal computers just do not give a chance. Any interest in this coin is lost.  Embarrassed
I apologize for the English Google.

All coins profitable first two-three weeks for regular users, no more. Dont you know?

You dont seem to grasp how the block rewards work, even after several people have explained it.

Is not about losing a big client. It's simply not in the spirit of Magi. Below is the phrase that makes me join Magi this community:

"MAGI puts efforts on removing the competitive nature of mining, and particularly focuses on fairness, cost effective and energy efficiency when issuing coins and maintaining the public ledger and the blockchain system."
Source: http://m-core.org/

That is the definition of Magi. There are hundred of coins where you can show how much power you have.

My question was not about algo or pow reward system, but about pool owner behaivor.

There is a lot of pools and they interested in hashrate bigger than competitors to get more revenue.

this algo worked fine while miners hr was lower or near to the cap limit (after which value drop to ~zero), and now, when more users want to mine, it is problem.
And anyway for solo miners it mean end of any profit.

Forget about fairness...
just for example, i (and not only ) have a lot cpu`s which is low powered for other coins, there is no reason mine bitcoin or etherium  but it good for magi.

look at current network hashrate  (80 Mh/s)  do you really think it is solo miners generate?

After fork problem be solved, we will always have network hash rate more than acceptable limit

Hi, I'm a newbie in mining and I have the following questions:

1.- Approximately how many shares are required to complete a currency?

2.- In mining software I get many accepted shares but in the dashboard only a few, too few. Is this normal?

You either lack reading comprehension skills or are simply trolling here.  The pool owner didnt lose a client.  He removed someone from the pool that was not following the rules.  What is so hard to grasp about that?

If you want to make a bunch of money, go elsewhere.  And also, are you the guy with hundreds of devices thats like a botnet, but legal, as it was stated?

If you're on a pool, you only get rewards when the pool finds a block.  Your shares contribute to finding a block on the pool.
