Something is definitely wrong there, you should be getting 50+ KH/sec. Try my GUI https://github.com/JasonXtreme/MagiGUI and run the Wolf V2 i7 miner, should up your hashrate. The guys doing 5000+ KH/s are either GPU mining or have clusters of PCs doing the work (IT admins have the power, I guess). I wish those would stick to bitcoin or sth Tongue

Thanks for the quick reply Jason.

I forgot to say in my post that my pc is running windows, this link is for Linux, right? But I've checked the folders in your link and I think it's the same miner I'm using. The one I have here says "wolf-m7m-cpuminer-V2-x64-0204". I've also tried switching between all minerd.exe versions in the pack, with no improvements in hashrate.

My processor is an i7-4500U, I thought it would be much faster than that :/

Anyways, since I work full time on my pc, I'll let it mining even if I can't improve the hashrate, because I've been reading this thread for a long time and I really liked this coin  Wink

Is that a laptop processor?. My son has a i7-4510U @ 2 GHz which only gives out 31.33 Kh/s maximum and that is when it is not overheating. It is not up to the job of running the miner flat out and gets too hot. The performance of the miner on laptop processors is somewhat disappointing compared to the performance on their desktop counterparts.

Use my miners for Windows - they are the fastest you can get and I have a suite of software to support them too. Links in the OP.

Nice rally. I once had 500k QRK (all mined), sitting at 50 Satoshis for months. Then they rose to 300 and I sold all, only to see the price rise to 25000 satoshis in the next few days (yes, that's a 50000% rise, check http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/quark/ ). That would have been 180,000 € at the time... Just saying.  Wink

BTW what is this PoM campaign about?  Huh

edit: Nevermind: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg10716046#msg10716046

Still wondering about the implications though.

With so many giveaways and prizes going on, it is obvious that the XMG Giveaway Virus is still rife and virulent. I seem to have caught a second dose of it. I am giving away 250 XMG to anybody that can help out with some program code and provide the utility I require, or 100 XMG to anybody who can provide a link to a web page that gives me exactly what I am looking for. Believe me, I have tried.

What I need is a standalone executable (does not matter if it needs a few dlls) that reads the CPU temperature and returns it as a number (any units, Kelvins, deciKelvins, whatever) if the data is available, or an error if it is not supported on that CPU. Sounds simple, but it isn't.

I know about using wmic but the command is supported on only a very limited range of CPUs - later Intels, so it seems. The actual data is available from registers on the CPU which may differ from CPU model to model, so it is a bit of a git really. I do not need, or want, a gui utility like many of those available. Something much simpler - just the numbers will do. Ideally I would like to run the utility from a command line and direct the output to a file e.g. GetCPUtemp.exe >temperature.txt but maybe I am asking for too much?

Any takers?

No really ... there's some XMG in it for you ... Cheesy

Quark used to interest me too - easy to mine - but it is going down the pan Sad

If XMG price flattens out for a while or just keeps climbing slowly, that will be just fine with me. Overshoots and undershoots are inevitable in the short term and canny dealers can turn a quick sly profit if they are so inclined. Watch out for those arbitrages.

Thanks for your respons.
This message is for those who sent their XMG exchange wallet for the Proof of Interest campaign.
Send me your own XMG walletaddress asap by PM!
One of the rules for the Proof in Interest campaign was: exchange walletaddresses are not allowed to join.
Thanks

For those who missed it; an easy way to lay your hands on XMG 250 or more :

http://www.coinmagipuzzle.org/

1st prize: XMG 1,000
2nd prize: XMG 500
3rd to 10th prizes: XMG 250

1st and 2nd Time are probably hard to beat, but plenty opportunities to puzzle your way into the Top 10 and go for XMG 250 !

Hehehe, the 1st is me Smiley

XMG's value at https://bittrex.com/ is 11450 too, its nice, but the block value drop under 1 now, lol. I hope some big miners will reduce the hash this time  Grin
