Interesting. According to http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i5-2500K+%40+3.30GHz&id=804 that is the hashrate I would expect at standard clock speed.

Hi,

Is there a way to solo mining with wolf-m7m-cpuminer-V2-x64-0124-generic?

I am not sure about that particular version. The first release of the Wolf0 improved miner did not include the code required for solo mining. The latest release (modified by Joe) does include support for solo mining.

Source:-

https://github.com/magi-project/wolf-m7m-cpuminer-V2

Windows binaries:-

.rar https://www.dropbox.com/s/q8puq9w6uc240mx/Spexx-Win64-generic-XMGminerd.rar

.zip https://www.dropbox.com/s/o8i726sxnwe2wxa/Spexx-Win64-generic-XMGminerd.zip

self-extracting .exe (extracts to C:\XMGminer by default)

Thx works very nice  Grin

Joe. I heard a rumour that gcc 4.7 might produce faster code than the latest 4.9 version. Is that what you are up to? I'm curious about that but not in any rush to attempt it.
Not quite sure of that, but it is true that the latest version might not be giving the best result. What I compiled is based on 4.9; I just tried 4.6 which is the mingw32 version on current Debian release, but it's inferior to compilation by 4.9. I will try out 4.7; 4.8 happens to be on xubuntu, will be quite easy to get a try.

Why are some of the miners detected by anti virus program`s and some not, are they bad news or is it just the code of the miner that trigger the anti virus program`s Huh

did you start  miner at azure. ?  CVZ-1024 Plan ? or some another? what is your hashrate ?

A friend recently send me a link to test their VPS, here are their prices - http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/virtual-machines/#Linux
I have no such plan - starting in the beginning of February i choose Basic tier, A2 (2 cpu cores, 3.5 gig RAM) around 15 - 20 khash
but yesterday i removed that VPS and make an Standard tier A3 (4 cpu cores, 7 gig RAM) and now im testing it - few hours of 25 - 30 khash.

Their testing program is limited to 1 month, but they give you 150 euro (or 200$) to play around.

Fair to say that I'm little dissapointed from Microsoft's Azure.
My single core VPS at DigitalOcean (cheepest, 5$ a month) is making around 15 khash...

I don't have one myself. I would certainly have a look at CPU core temperatures to see if thermal throttling was an issue. The miner pushes a CPU to the limit.

It's just a false positive detection; which AV you're using and which miners your AV is complaining?

There were few reports that they put limit in box once they found out high CPU usage; probably you can lower the hashrate a bit down so that CPU is not running at 100%.

A lot of anti-virus software will flag up mining software as "bad" because it has been used as a malware payload. This does not mean that the mining software is malware! The anti-virus software detects certain code patterns that are common to all mining software. This leads to "false positive" detections and they are a real pain in the **** tbh. All my software releases are submitted to virustotal.com and are usually detected by a handful of AV scanners as Riskware/PUP/Bitcoin miner variant.

Thanks hefty, we are appreciated for your work, that really helps and you deserve a lot Smiley; I'm wondering you got over 300 CPUs? Wink will PM for details.

All, please post your CPU hashrate, or PM hefty so that we can sort out a list.

thanks joelao, i dont have 300 different cpus, i can test near 360 machines at work, for now 40% of them are office machines using intel celeron cpus, i work as system admin, and now is best time to test when only few people works and everyone is on winter vacation, dont tell my boss  Cheesy, thank you spexx for more than generous donation and thank you all for helping spexx, sollozzo, merge , z0n0, goldlabel... ill try to test 20 or more machines today.

Hefty,
I have one i5-4460 Has(h)well on ubuntu 12.04.
It does  ~81kh/s @ -t 4 at stock freq, stock cooler, temp goes up to 65 deg.

One Intel Centrino (Thinkpad T42)  one core running at 2Gig does  ~2.1kh/s

Fellow miners, get your thens and thans in order and help other forum readers understand what you are writing. Remember the grammar basics:  B larger THAN A (comparator operator). If something THEN ....

thank You z0n0 and bobben Wink
i am getting a lot of different data on 8320, i get around 83 khash stock win, z0n0 75 stock win, and killbill 85 on win and 105-110 on ubuntu at 4,5ghz. If FX cpus getting that hash on ubuntu than only faster cpus on windows are intels with 6 core/12 threads or i am getting low khashs with i7s on win ? With i7 4930k 3.40 ghz i get 125 to 128 khashs and with 3 different i7 4790k with turbo on i get only 99,5 to 102 khashs on win 8.1, can anyone clarify on diferences on hashing between ubuntu and windows i dont have any ubuntu machine i can bench now.
I just ordered used 8320 black edition i have chvformula im not using right now i will test it on ubuntu in next 2 days but i can not do that for all other cpus they are all on win and i cant make dual boot on machines at work. Also i have problem with 2600k they have difference of 3 to 5 khash one on win 8.1 another on win 7, both pc-s as idle as they can be if anyone have 2600k pls post your results. And i only have one buldozzer 4 now to test so if you have any pls post results.  thanks
All other same cpus have similar hash for now +-3%  Smiley
