Hi, I have been mining XMG for two days. Im using 3 i7 computers; Im pooling on SuchPool and already managed to exchange for bitcoins using Bittrex and transfered to my wallet.

Thats a good way or am I doing something that could be better?

Also, my last reward on Suchpool was 12 hours ago, wich is weird because they have been paying me at 1hour intervals... someone else uses this pool and is having the same problem?

Thanks!

Hi. I  am mining there to. I guess it is due to 1-2 coins mined as a rewar for block found by the entire pool divided for all of us smaller miner receive fractions of coin for the block.
I noticed that if network hashrate is high reward drops to few coins - even to one coin. When hashrate drops - reward is bigger.

Yeah, but normally I would get something between 0.3 and 1.2 rewards every few minutes/hours... but now.. 12 hours without nothing... its a bit weird. I looked at the latest block found and it was 12 hours ago... thats kind weird isnt? Ive never heard of this pool so I know nothing of it.

SuchPool right? Last 24 hours 28 blocks 28 valid.
Keep us informed about this.

The rewards for magi go down when hashrate goes up.  Also there is a luck factor involved in finding blocks so hours could go buy without a block being found.  This means that if hash goes up a lot and it isn't on the pool you are on, the probability of a block being found on the pool goes down.  The reward will probably be a lot lower when a block is finally found as well.  I use sweetspot miner (http://xmg.makejar.com/) and have it set so my cpu usage goes down to 10% when hashrate goes up and rewards go down so I am not wasting energy.  I have mine set to 10 XMG reward target and it still uses the higher cpu % setting until rewards drop below about 6 XMG per block.

magi android, cool ,just bought android , i would like to test how it works
I also bought an android tablet to test out some coin wallets and/or mining software.
So far I like the Novacoin wallet a lot ("minting" tab shows probabilities of coins staking).
Also, Shapeshift has android app now.  Instant exchange with no account!
Perhaps Shapeshift will add Magi in the future.  Or do they have it already?

So far as I see, there is no way to run wallets in background, or with the screen off.
Also no way to "hover" on a touch-screen.  But I am new to android...
Looking forward to the Magi android release!

It has been some time that I have been mining Magi within my own laptop's Intel Core i5 CPU. However, I'm still not quite sure how this unique block reward works. I have an idea of how it could be but I'm not sure if it is right. I guess the less hashrate you have for mining, the more reward you will get? I need better explanation for this as I really don't understand how it works. Sorry for asking, I just want to know Magi well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks  Grin

The reward function is explained in the "Magi-Reward-V2" and "Necessary to adjust miner efficiency?" sections of this post. If you want a graph of any block's possible rewards based on average hashrate (and block difficulty), you can use the following site to play with the parameters: http://starflakenights.net/crypto/blockreward/xmg.html.

If this campaign run as smooth as the last one then i can predict that there will more much more ppl than in the old one, the old one was just perfect.

Do not doubt it guys, apply for that campaign as soon as it start, you will not regret it, believe me Wink

We should start to advertise it few weeks before it happens, i don't want that anybody lose it.

IMHO #1.b of suspects, Hal Finney is/was S.N.

Thanks for sharing this information. I will take a look at it, analyze the block reward and see how well I could keep up with Coin Magi. XMG's block reward is what makes Coin Magi a unique alt coin among other cryptos.  Cheesy

Don't know what happened. But there is always the option of mining solo with your wallet.

I see an app on Google Play that claims to be the official Coin Magi App!
It certainly looks real.  Tons of info about Magi included in the app:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.bauerj.xmg_app&hl=en

So is this app a lightweight wallet or full client?  Can it stake?
I assume it is secure, open-source and all that good stuff?

Lol good thing you find it there. For sure its the real one.
Indeed you can add addresses there. If the app does not accept you address label first remove the label and than scan the qr code.
Staking is not an option yet! ;-) If you stake with that address on your pc you can see the rewards coming in. Grin

Now this is something awesome for Magi lovers (like me), but can I see that it is only an informative XMG app. I don't see the ability to send or receive XMG on the app, or am I wrong? Anyways, it is a great effort that the Magi development team has created and I'm looking forward to see Magi grow and become the most popular alt coin out there. Keep up the good work!  Cheesy

The app gives fast info about the hashrate, price and your balance.
Magi will try to extend the app with other subject. Wink
