If either of those are social media, then no. Actually, no anyway. I am a merchant mariner gone from home for ~9 months a year. I have no social life.
Lol no social life😉 Check dm!

Thanks for the quick reply 111magic.
I saw that Cryptopia was having issues. His exchange does not carry XMG or I would have just had him convert it and send it to my wallet. What other options do I have? Is Bitrex the only other exchange? I see ridiculous waiting times to register there.
Yes thats right. Cryptopia also grew huge. Magi sent 8 requests to other different exchanges. Hope to give some positive news about that soon. I don't know if this is still working. But Novaexchange will close in few months. Looks they still have Magi there. Think you can register there also. https://novaexchange.com/market/BTC_XMG/Give it a try For now, Cryptopia won't allow to withdraw Magi... I was expecting to buy some to start staking along with the small amount I'm mining, but guess I will need to trade for a while.

xpoolx admins contacted me and I got back my 35 xmgs getting back an xpoolx to do some mining They have still not responded nor return my measly amount of XMG. I would suggest staying away from XPOOL. XpoolX is online since 2015 with constant amount of users. NEVER stealed a single coin, NEVER. You know the mess in the network these days, it corrupted the database and some tables need to refill, we are inserting the transactions manually and compensating the users for the inconveniences we caused. If you did not receive the coins yet, please contact us. I confirm. They answered me immediately and they sent me the lost coins (even more)

I know the are working very hard to keep up with the huge grow.

Not to beat a dead horse, but an Idiots Guide (specifically for solo mining) would be very nice. 111Magic says he will attempt one, but he is only one guy (with an already full plate). This should be a community effort (wiki anyone?). Although I cannot contribute to what you are seeing while minerd is running (reason I want a guide), I am very versed in Linux and could help write the How to Set Up and Install wallet/core/miner/m-miner/etc on Linux. I am sure there are some Windoze gurus out there that could do the same for that platform and solo miners from the start that know this stuff like the back of their hand.
Let's pull together as a community and create an Idiots Guide to Magi Coin. Although the network is already more than maxed out on hashrate, more user friendly means more interest which means more value.

Hi,
Is it safe to move my coins from Cryptopia to Windows wallet now? I'm looking forward to the new updates coming.

Already working on a newb's guide. Less how-to and more what-is. Some how-to will be included but mostly I want it to be what-is. plenty mining guides out there; even some for solo (check steemit or some link in the slack channel). not so many guides for wallet setup. I'd like to see a guide on scripting the wallet daemon. Also would be neat to see a TUI for interacting with the daemon.

I'd like to see a guide on scripting the wallet daemon. Also would be neat to see a TUI for interacting with the daemon.
It's been a while since I've scripted, but I might be able to do a GUI in python if no one else does it before I go back to sea. I get bored and something like scripting a GUI could keep me occupied.

Just to be clear: By TUI, I sort of meant ncurses (or similar) interaction for magid. There's already a Qt wallet... Although, my desktop is gtk3 based and it would be wonderful to rid myself of Qt overhead. I'm thinking, though, of ditching graphical stuff altogether and switching my WM over to Twin or byobu.

In another windows machine, everything works correctly.
Do you have suggestions?
My suggestion is to mine another cpu coin until the network comes down below 70Mh/s. I did. I kept a few little-bitties mining XMG because setting them up for other coins is a PITA. See XMR, VRM, AEON, a few others.
But mining is boring. Still hoping for some marketing and other infos. How many nodes are active on the network (average, because I know they come-n-go)? How are planning to keep a certain minimum number up to secure the network (BTC is running into this problem)? What is this mysterious Feb 1 announcement (just hints! Don't want to spoil it. Let us speculate.) What are plans for mobile wallets w/o full node attached? Web wallets? Paper wallets? (yes, could not contribute to PoS, but would ease actual use of coin outside of market trading and HODLing) How is funding for promotion and development happening and planned for future? Aeon is not only CPU, it can be mined with CPU and GPU, Cryptonight-lite or Cryptonight-light

I want to give a huge shout out to 111Magic for his help converting LTC to XMG.
I was willing to trust this member enough to send him the LTC and then wait until he converted it to BTC and finally XMG then send me the XMG. He did not ask me for any kind of transaction fee or hold back or anything else. 111Magic did not make any monies at all from this, but he did help me to obtain XMG while the exchanges are being particularly finicky.
Kudos to 111Magic!!!

So now I have (almost) a couple of hundred XMG. I still want to solo mine (PoW), but I also want to stake (PoS). My XMG is still quite immature so it will be a little bit before I can stake, but my question is; Can I still solo mine with all 4 CPU cores and stake as well, or do I need to reserve a CPU core to stake with? How much CPU does staking require?
